Love Amazonia is a non-profit compilation bringing together electronic artists from around the world to support indigenous communities in the Amazon rainforest affected by the COVID19 pandemic, illegal deforestation, industrial farming, oil exploration, mining and unlawful occupation of their ancestral territories. 

100% of the proceeds from the first Love Amazonia compilation will go directly to the Huni Kuin Kaxinawá indigenous group in the state of Acre, Brazil. 

Big thanks to all the artists for co-creating and donating their work, and thanks to the talented indigenous artist Edilene Huni Kuin for the beautiful compilation artwork. 

We thank the indigenous people for opening their hearts to us and sharing their sacred ancestral knowledge. We stand in solidarity and support their fight for the future of our forests and humanity.

Glasgow based Maya Medvesek better known as Nightwave is an internationally established DJ, producer, vocalist, club promoter & label boss. Renowned for her energetic DJ sets, she has played major clubs and festivals around the world, toured America, Asia and Australia and shared stages with some of the biggest names in electronic music.

Prolific producer and remixer, she's released numerous records over the last decade, continually reinventing her sound and exploring a vast array of influences grounded in Detroit techno, electro, acid, Chicago house and old rave nostalgia. Her releases on labels like Hotflush, Unknown To The Unknown, DABJ / Neutralizer, Fool's Gold, Balkan Vinyl, Musar, Ministry Of Sound, Fabric and her own imprint Heka Trax have received wide-spread support. As a vocalist, she has credits on heritage UK labels Warp and Planet Mu. 

Her extensive mix archive features recordings for Resident Advisor, Boiler Room, Crack, Mixmag, BBC, Ninja Tune, DJ Mag, The Fader, NTS, Beats1 etc. Back home in Glasgow she is a resident of La Cheetah Club and continues to run her club night Nightrave, now in its 8th year.

Nightwave's 2021 started with a guest BBC1 Radio 1 Residency for DJ Mag and the global premiere of 'Underplayed', a feature length documentary about women in electronic music in which she stars and she's working on her next record just in time for the return of the clubs - where she feels most at home.

Based in Glasgow, Nightwave is the musical guise of Maya Medvesek - a singular producer, dj and artist with a great deal of energy and drive. For many years she has worked tirelessly establishing herself as one of the most forward thinking dj's in the city and as such has gone on to international praise and acclaim. 

Her own musical output has been featured by a number of record labels which include the likes of A-Trak's Fools Gold, Dext Recordings, Musar, Unknown To The Unknown and Neutralizer. She has also worked alongside a number of hugely influential women on two EP's which have been released in line with International Women's Day. 

In the booth Maya draws for the heat, often playing broadly across a collection of genres and styles. However, her love for all things Dance Mania and the affiliated have not gone amiss and when those records leave the bag things go bang. Trust us.
