It’s a song for every survivor who was told to stay quiet, who was made to feel small, broken, or invisible. “Name in the Fire” lit the match—this is the aftermath. Stronger. Louder. Unapologetic. Every lyric is a scar I’ve learned to wear with pride. This is for the ones who made it out and for the ones still fighting. You’re not alone.

This track gives voice to our daughter, who fought cancer with defiance and grace until the age of 19. She left this world held in the arms of her parents — Phoenix (band lyricist and label owner) and her mother.

“Did You See Me” is her story: fierce, unflinching, demanding to be seen for more than scars, silence, or struggle. It’s the voice of every child who deserved recognition, compassion, and love, but too often faced judgment instead.

We don’t glamorize pain — we carry her truth forward. Through this song, her outrage and her courage live on, so that no one forgets.

Did You See Me

The UK’s next-wave hard rockers Matted will release their 3rd single ‘Gaslight’ on 7th October 2025.
‘Gaslight’ follows on from their first two singles, ‘Material’ (Feb 2025) and ‘Flowers and Chains’ (Jun 2025) and throws its weight around, revealing an even punchier edge to this innovative band’s developing sound. The 5-piece are influenced by a love of rock music in all its forms.  Grunge, metal, classic, nu, rap, hip-hop and industrial can all be identified here. However, Matted’s fusion of big riffs, melodic vocals and in-your-face drums comes with an irreverence, camaraderie and a cheeky grin creating something fresh and exciting. 

‘Gaslight’ is the third song from the band’s studio sessions with McFly’s Harry Judd and Danny Jones in the producer’s chairs and has been mixed by Lewis Johns. 
Since launching in May 2024, Matted have performed at Download Festival, Call of the Wild and Planet Rockstock, supported Crashface, Armored Saint and Von Hertzen Brothers, and headlined shows in London and Brighton. Radio support has come from BBC Introducing, Total Rock, and Kerrang! Radio, with the latter naming them finalists in The Deal competition 2025.  The hashtag #mattedismassive which the band have adopted, was inspired by an on-air quote from a BBC radio presenter.

The song chronicles the intoxicating spiral of rock stardom—golden cages of stage lights and adoring crowds devouring the artist's soul, trading raw truth for fleeting highs that carve deeper than knives, until burnout leaves liquor-soaked ruins and hollow-eyed reflections staring back from the mirror. Through jagged rap-metal verses and psychedelic fractures, it exposes the mask's blur becoming identity, where chaos masquerades as art and the fall fractures a hollow crown, yet whispers of refusal ignite a trembling new voice amid the quiet's hard truth. Ultimately, it exalts rebirth not as gentle salvation but as gritty reclamation—scars strummed into chords, bruises etched as enduring notes—proving that rising real from the wreckage forges a sound worth the strain, unmasked and unbreakable.

It’s the moment when reality falls short of the vivid picture we painted in our minds—when the promise of something better dissolves into the ordinary or the absent. It’s not just sadness; it’s the sting of believing, investing, and imagining, only to be met with silence, indifference, or a different truth. Expectations lift us, but when unmet, they leave behind a hollow echo where joy was supposed to land.
