It's funny how sometimes a movie can make you creative .. as everyone else, I know about Pink Floyd, but I didn’t know this song of them, or at least I haven’t paid more attention to it .. it was a scene in the new ‘The Continental’ series, which catch my ears and it inspired me to do a modern remix of it .. I am happy to be among the firsts to do a re-work of this classic from 1975 .. enjoy it 😉

Here some of his words about this mix: "The original idea started as part of an extended set that I play every year at our Delayed Barn getaways. There’s always a joy in having the opportunity to play long hours with no pressure to ‘get’ somewhere in a time frame. For this mix, I recorded it at home in my apartment with a few friends on a Friday night. I tried to capture that moment where things shift into gear as the energy starts to rise and excitement builds for what is to come".

In 1985, in response to a crazy bet made between himself and comedian Richard Pryor, wagering on whether he had singing talent or not, the actor Eddie Murphy recorded the single "Party All The Time" at Rick James home studio. It reached number two on the Billboard Hot 100 for three weeks, behind "Say You, Say Me" by Lionel Richie.

Almost 40 years later and after several really good edits, the young and talented Colombian artist Osccurate brings new life to the original title.

Hyper dancefloor, he gives it uncompromising effectiveness, between trance, dark disco and 80s.

Ron Flatter is well established and has been releasing music for over 20 years on some of the worlds largest independent labels such as Traum Schallplatten, Stil Vor Talent, Boxer Sport, Einmusika, Hive Audio, Eleatics and his own label, Pour La Vie Records.

Lead track 'Embraces Scars' is a unique, melodic composition with a very emotive female vocal; when Ron first heard it he really wanted to give it a place between his synthesizers in a way that only he could. ‘Ivoo’ continues the melodic masterclass, albeit with an instrumental lean that puts the all important ‘E’ in emotive. Lastly, 'Cosmolimon' really flourishes into a beautiful piece of art, which includes a warmer groove and esoteric male vocal. This EP is really something for all the crate diggers out there!

Es war vor gut einem Jahr mitten im Wald am Lagerfeuer, als ich das erste Mal einen Mix vom Moritz aka Zijn gehört habe. Ich war sofort hin und weg von der hypnothischen Wirkung seines alles anderen als gängigen Downtempo Sounds. Dazu gespickt mit faszinierenden Tracks aus vergangenen Zeiten. Das er zu unserer Reihe eingeladen werden musste, stand sofort fest. Daher freut es mich ungemein, dass er sofort mit an Bord war und einen Mix der absoluten Spitzenklasse aufgenommen hat, der den Namen Afterhour Sound absolut verdient. Dieses und vieles weitere verätt er uns in seinem Interview.

✔️ Was sind deine musikalischen Einflüsse?
Musik ist schon immer Teil meines Lebens, und früh auch elektronische. Mit 18 habe ich angefangen mit gebrannten CD's Goa aufzulegen, und mich von da an durch verschiedene Genres und technische Innovationen gemixt. Was mich zu dem Sound geführt hat, der heute aus mir rauskommt, ist aber eine wilde Mischung aus klassischer Musik, HipHop, Metal und Psy. Das waren zumindest so meine musikalischen Phasen, die mich bis zum Techno und schließlich Downtempo geführt haben, und die sicher ihre Spuren hinterlassen haben, im Bezug auf Rhythmen aber auch die Wirkung verschiedener Klangbilder. Heute ist es mir wichtig, meiner Musik einen transzendenten, rituellen Charakter zu verleihen.

✔️ Was macht deiner Meinung nach eine gute Afterhour aus? 
Wenn alle komplett verscheppert/ verstrahlt und ganz im Moment sind doch eigentlich niemand mehr irgendwas wirklich versteht, aber alle es unglaublich toll finden, dass der Moment gerade so passiert. Das passt eigentlich auch gut zu meinem Sound...der nimmt eine*n nämlich am liebsten auch mit auf eine gedankenlose magische Reise durch Raum und Zeit...

✔️ Welche Gedanken magst du uns zu deinem Mix mit auf den Weg geben? 
Meditation ist ein Zustand, der durch Musik erreicht werden kann, weil sie meinen Geist beruhigt und mir ermöglicht, aufzugehen und mit allen Sinnen wahrzunehmen. Ich wünsche allen Hörer*innen, mit meinem Set ein bisschen von diesem Gefühl bzw. Zustand mitzugeben.
