The “Time Is A Slice Of Forever” EP by Niju represents our first ever original film soundtrack release on the Kiosk ID label.

To a certain extent at least, you just have to imagine the film that fits to this music. If you were, for a moment, to shun all the flickering screens around us by closing your eyes and allowing the images of said movie to dance on the inside of your retinas.

Euclidean Street(Original): 
Our protagonist is struggling through a thick forest. The sun breaks through the sparse interruptions in the foliage, illuminating the path, radiating the way. Covered in sweat, our protagonist smiles despite his labours knowing the sun is patient.

Piano Lesson - Black Pearl Mix: 
He has reached the edge of the forest. An enchanted moor stretches off to the horizon. Pink blossoms scratch at the clouds. They smell like coffee and honey. The shoes are heavy – we move in slow motion. The king of the moors – the vainest toad in the world wearing a turquoise Fedora – shows us the way. Someone turned the fog machine up to 11.

Corners of my Dreams (Original): 
He can finally move on solid ground again and runs toward the sun with a spring in his step. Someone throws him a white towel. It is the softest in the world, washed with the finest fabric softener of all time - the tears of joy of young koala bears.

Ocean Drive (Original): 
A short rest in a wood-paneled restaurant. Inside, desert air moves gently, even though it is cold outside. He ponders this as he orders a mellow whisky - after the third glass he understands.

Piano Lesson (Ninze RMX): 
He goes to sleep, dreaming of hotel towels. Visions of young koala bears sunk in a pillow fight - in majestic slow motion.

Corners of my dreams (Rampue version 5.0): 
The koala bears have had some coffee and are giving our protagonists fitness tips. In order to make it to the goal, he has to do cardio. The oldest of the young koala bears gives him his prized sweat band as a parting gift.

Finally arriving at his destination, our protagonist sorts out his conquests: the encrusted shoes, koala Bear headbands, soft towels and a bottle of the mellow whisky. He leans back, opens the bottle and whispers quietly: What an adventure!

100 schwindelerregende Runden im Igelkarussell🌀; da kommt einiges zusammen…seit rund 4 einhalb Jahren betreiben wir nun schon unsere Podcastserie, die stets weiterentwickelt wurde. Anfangs eher auf die Locals in Mittelhessen fokussiert, erweiterte sich das Spektrum auf Towndempo Künstler*innen quer durch die Republik und darüber hinaus. Wir feiern mit euch und dem wunderbaren Rolandson gemeinsam unser 100tes Podcastjubiläum!🎊 

Tja, wo soll man da nur anfangen? Eigentlich ganz klar, dass wir seine Vita hier kaum adäquat abbilden können, aber hier zumindest ein kleiner Versuch: Groovy since 1994 erfreut er regelmäßig euphorisch tanzende Meuten und hat seiner Passion niemals den Rücken gekehrt. Nein ganz im Gegenteil, er hat seinem Spieltrieb nach knapp 30 Jahren niemals aufgehört zu folgen. Denn ihm dabei besonders wichtig, der Intuition und der Spielfreude zu folgen anstatt nur ewig gleichbleibende Erwartungen zu bedienen. Seine simple Philosophie dahinter lautet daher: Einfach machen!

Samstagmorgen, halb 8 in der früh,beim Abriss vor dem Abriss - denn in knapp 24 Stunden wird der temporär genutzte KellerClub der Vergangenheit angehören - beginnt Rolandson  sein closing set zu seiner liebsten Playtime. Es ist ein spezielles Set wie er uns verrät: Viele der Anwesenden waren bereits bei der von ihm bespielten Eröffnung des Clubs dabei und wurden in den letzten Monaten und darüber hinaus zu engen Freunden. Nun tanzen sie wieder einmal hier unten - in dem Keller, irgendwo in München. Er bespielt und beschließt den ersten Teil vom 2 Nächte-Closings, welcher durch das „Discotheque Royal“ Kollektiv organisiert worden ist, bevor dann in der Nacht 2 die Crew um „Maison Almedina“ mit ihren DJs für einen weiteren Abriss zum Abriss sorgen wird.  Er wird ca. 5 Stunden spielen und die Tracks auf den 3 Playern rauf- und runterpitchen, immer wieder nen Rewind zum Vorwärtsspulen einbauen oder beim rückwärts spielen schneller werden - alle 3 Kanäle offen haben und einfach mit allen viel Spaß haben. Alle wollen bleiben, Keiner mag gehen, zu sehr treibt der Bass und die kollektive Stimmung ist zu euphorisch um diesen temporär genutzten Raum einfach so zu verlassen - somit präsentiert euch der Spulenigel ein verspult treibendes … , ja was eigentlich? … ein Rolandson-Set, ein Closing-Set der Rolandson’schen Art oder doch ne treibende Afterhour-Nummer - auf jeden Fall einen seiner seltenen Mitschnitte, denn eines ist ihm nach all den Jahren immer wieder wichtig: es zählt, was im Club passiert. Dort, wo freie Entfaltung machbar und so verdammt wichtig ist und wo du als DJ machen kannst, wonach dir der Sinn und die Laune steht und wozu die 3 Arme und verknoteten Finger in der Lage zu sind - denn, Musik, egal wie alt und neu und schnell und langsam sie ist, ist zum Spielen da - und die Player ein facettenreiches Spielzeug. Freut euch auf 2,5 Stunden verspult, verspielte - knapp daneben und doch gemixte Tracks a la Rolandson in unserem 100ten Igelkarussell.

I first got to know Sangeet back in 2017 when I first started discovering the beautiful music within the 100bpm (+/- 10) range. Playing his tracks on my very first SOLmundo episodes released on Lump Records in the Australian bush.

Sangeet is no stranger to the scene, and his productions are widely known amongst established and underground artists who play/produce music within this range. His productions have been on prominent labels such as Lump Records, Pipe & Pochet, MONADA, Shango, Kosa Records, and more.

Mit der EP “Stay” begeben sich 959er & Nomi Solo auf ein akustisches Abenteuer, inspiriert von World Music, Chill Out und Down Tempo. Das Ergebnis ist Dümpeltechno vom Feinsten! 

Der Opening-Track “Stay” wird von einem wabernden Synthie getragen, der mitreißt, ohne dick aufzutragen. Seine technoide Abstammung bemerkt man spätestens durch das Einsetzen der Kickdrum. In der Mitte des Tracks kommt Gänsehautstimmung auf, verursacht durch ein harmonisches Flöten-Thema und dem immer wiederkehrenden Vocal. Abgerundet wird das Stück mit fein eingesetzten Percussions und einem dezenten Summen.

“Am Morgen nach einer durchtanzten Nacht” ist der Auftakt zum zweiten Titel der EP. “Carong” lädt ein zu einer Reise, begleitet von einer klaren Orgel und deepem Synthie-Sound. Sie führt auf einem langen Bogen zum eigentlichen Thema, welches durch sein ausgewogenes Gitarrenspiel besticht. Der Einsatz von traditionellen Shakern und die eingängige Bassline machen den Sound rund und schaffen eine Atmosphäre, die “wieder, und immer wieder” zum Träumen verleitet.

“Listen” wählt eine schnellere Gangart, die das Stück absolut clubtauglich macht. Es schöpft Kraft aus der treibenden Bassline und dem orchestral anmutenden Synthie. Der rollende Charakter wird durch das Zusammenspiel gezielter Rhythmuselemente verstärkt. Nicht zuletzt die dynamischen Steeldrums verleihen dem Stück seinen ganz eigenen Charakter. 

“Jenny” ist das sphärische Schlusswort der EP. Durch das Wechselspiel der langgezogenen Keys und der Gitarrenriffs geraten, mit Hilfe von viel Delay, die Gedanken ins Schweifen. Wieder sind es die präzise inszenierten Percussions, die den Titel einmalig machen. Der Track kommt ohne richtige Bassline aus, das schafft Raum und durch den melancholischen Vocal wandern die Gedanken weiter und weiter.

trndmsk: What inspired you to produce the track?

gázel: We both come from very different musical backgrounds and have almost opposing views on sound design and arrangement tactics. This manifests itself in ways that constantly surprise us. Julian has a past in Punk, Indie and Hip Hop projects and is fond of nearly any handmade music. Lucas has been listening to experimental electronic music since his teenage years and has a past in harder music styles such as Metalcore and Hard Techno. After we listened to the finished track, we realized we fused those influences together unconsciously, while still sticking to our lowest common denominator: Downtempo. We think the track does very good job at representing who we are, musically. (...)
