Old Narad walked with a harp and grin
Spilling secrets with a scratch of his chin
Valmiki asked, “Who’s good and true?
Who does the things we all should do?”
Narad squinted and gave a shrug
“Just one,” he said, “but he’s got bugs”

“His name is Rama—tall and grand
With lava eyes and justice hand
He’s kind and calm and wise and fair
Except when demons wreck his lair
He shoots straight arrows through the trees
And still says ‘thank you’ and ‘please’”

“He gave up crowns and comfy things
Because Dad promised younger queens
He went to live where squirrels sing
With bark for clothes and bugs that sting
He brought his wife and brother too
Because that’s just what heroes do”

Then demons came with fiery breath
And Rama shot them all to death
A giant girl with monster toes
Proposed—and Rama just said ‘No’
So off she ran, enraged and burned
And soon her brother’s wrath returned

Then Sita vanished not by choice
And Rama screamed with lion voice
He wandered far with aching heart
Till Hanuman leapt off the chart
He found her crying near some trees
With demon guards and monkeys’ fleas

They built a bridge across the sea
Yes monkeys built it trust in me
And Rama fought a ten-head king
Whose roars made planets shake and sing
He won of course—our hero cried
But questioned if his wife had lied

She walked through fire just to prove
Her love was pure—she didn’t move
The flames bowed down the wind stood still
And Rama wept against his will
So ends the tale Narad once knew
Of perfect men who doubted too
