The Return

The idea to do this came about as I heard a Weeknd song in my personal playlist soon after this. These vocal melody lines are just too freaking good! I could totally imagine Weeknd or Joji, pull these off in their respective styles.

This is also a small musical tribute to the iconic actor/director Shankar Nag, who can be seen sporting as a singer in original video, taken from 'Geetha' (1981) sang by SPB.


Shankar Nag Passed, who directed the legendary Malgudi Days passed away two decades ago.

Sooraj a.k.a MONé has come a long way from being an avid music enthusiast to dishing out very eclectic deep, progressive and melodic techno sets in some of the finest venues and events in South India. 

Kickstarting his career as a promising DJ early in 2010, whilst playing a heady mix of Deep House, Nu-Disco and Prog, in and around Chennai and Bangalore, Sooraj found himself drawn to the sounds of John Digweed, Anton Make, Roger Martinez, Torsten Fassbender. And also more eclectic sounds of Movement machina, Ludwig Goransson, Tom Day, AFAR, Throwing Snow, Second Sine, Sudhaus, Lewis Fautzi, Oscar Mulero

In a short space of time, MONé has opened for some of the best international and national talents such as Cid Inc, Henry Saiz, Marco Bailey, Bella Saris, Arjun Vagale, BLOT!, Praveen Achary and more, as the scene in India grew!

DJ'ing with a voracious taste for punchy baselines and constantly striking a fine balance between Progressive and Techno, a lot of his work features his signature concoction which is a mix of tight driving grooves and a wide variety of rhythmic melodic structures.
