Howdy! I'm back after a few years! This track was released a year after I was born, excerpted from Cusco's famous orchestral album Apurimac, released in 1989. Through the years I have heard a lot of music but you can't beat playing drums to an orchestra in the background, it's just liberating!

Fighting Inca - Cusco (Drum Remix)

I'm back again with another track from the past! This is a demo of an original composition from my band Bridge To Elsewhere back in the day (2011). I was lucky enough to get hold of the project files from the studio, post recording.

I was always really meh about how the drums sounded on the track because it wasn't my best take and one couldn't really hear the drums in the mix at all. Well, almost 4 years later, I get to re-record the drums sitting at home, on my own kit and in my studio. It's been an adventure to figure out new drum parts for this song and explore the opportunity to mix the track better from a more mature perspective as a musician and a learning producer.

Here's another track I've fallen in love with since offlate. I recorded this around the time I got my drum mics, so the levels wouldn't be as great but it was FUN playing to this track! Loads of pump and LOADS of Dub, Glitch Mob is the Best! :D

You know a drummer can always take the longest break away from drumming when it's needed, only to return back with the most mental grooves. Our brain rewires and does the ever so crazy drum inception. 

This track is without a click and just freeform drumming. I'm not following anything specific in my head but just playing away :D

Nikhil Maira, 27 years from New Delhi, India. Howdy! I have a brand new track for you :D This was one of the first I had recorded after learning to mix(sort of). The take dates back to (May '15), which was a special month because it was the only time I had ever come close to making the drums fit into a song properly. This is a beautifully crafted song by alt-J and has been one of my all time favorites to get back to when the brain needs some musical morphine.

I won't lie, I teared up right after hearing it a few times and then couldn't stop, because sometimes you just can't. Such is life :')

Nikhil Maira, 27 years from New Delhi, India. Whaddup! I take immense pride in announcing my first international collaboration with Love Askling. He's a chill dude from Sweden who's making quite the impact on Soundcloud, a brilliant composer in my opinion and a great friend :D

This song reverbs a very strong part of our lives in the past, which co-incidentally, we both had to leave behind due to the deranged and unfortunate way of things. It's dark, hurtful, and emotionally driven. That's probably why you never see me smile when I'm drumming or even flinch; I was in the zone!
