I took the Joey Sturgis Tones' Toneforge: Misha Mansoor for a spin on this, coupled with the Modern & Massive drum library from GetGood Drums.

Composed a piece for Woodburns Whiskey (Spec Ad, not endorsed)
It's simple with just two layers of audio - an acoustic guitar + tanpura drone in D and organically recorded with a Zoom handheld recorder. 
The idea was to capture outlaw countryside meets Indian classical context.

Here is my entry for Rob Scallon's "Djent is Dead" Contest 2018. 
I've never written a complete song before let alone tried to program drums/ synths, so this was a pretty challenging exercise for me.
The cool part is I got a ton of ideas other than what I used in the song and I also got a vague understanding of DAWs.

I'm sorry for the terrible "production" quality on the vocals, I'm still a noob at the moment. I really hope that's not part of the judgement criteria lol.

I'd love to get any feedback that you may have. It's only the second time I've written lyrcis and vocal melodies etc. Just happy I actually completed the song. Cheers!
