¨Returning to the desert after two years and playing on the impressive new Galaxyer art car for my Mexican fam surrounded by so many dear friends was pure bliss and very emotional for me. I touched almost the sunrise of Thursday morning and could dance under the pink clouds framed by the iconic lasers and the impressive fire show. 

This year was one of the best Burns I had so far, I received so much love and I am beyond grateful for every single minute. Thank you to the Mayan Warrior crew for your trust over so many years!¨

Mira - Mayan Warrior - Burning Man 2024

¨Since I started making music, it’s always been one of my biggest dreams to play on the Mayan Warrior - and this year it became a reality. The gig got confirmed just a couple weeks before, in person, on the Wiese floor at Garbicz festival. I‘ll never forget this moment… Bursting of excitement, I’ve subsequently poured all my heart and energy into preparing for the week out in the dust and above all the set on that majestic artcar out in the desert of Nevada.

I wanted the set to be personal, featuring many tracks from artists who have played a significant role in my musical journey over the years as well as obviously some fresh new tunes from myself. In the little time I had left I managed to combine all that into the story that I got to tell on Wednesday night. Surprisingly zen, deeply grateful and content, I played this set surrounded by the sweetest bunch of people looking out in the colorful and bountiful sea of lights in front of me.

With all my heart I thank you Mayan Warrior, Rodrigo, Pablo, Amal and everyone else behind the scenes for your work, for creating such an impressive artcar, for endlessly inspiring me over the years and for letting me be a part of the Mayan story.¨

It's onlineee!!! Very excited to release my set recorded at the mega birthday of the cat queen @mira_kater! 🎉

What an honor to open the 'Acid Bogen' floor on Saturday night at Kater Blau. I am so grateful for all the people that came out right at the beginning of this musical marathon. It was my first time playing in Berlin and this special event made sure I was surrounded by so many friends. 

Thank you, thank you, thank you Mira, Kater, all the crew and all the dancers.

"Lines We Didn’t Draw" is a track I created in a single breath. It flowed out of me in response to the pain I’ve been feeling as I watch the events unfolding in Iran and Israel. It’s challenging to make sense of it all and even harder to find the right words, so I turned to sound. 

Tehran, where I was born, has been absent from my life for over two decades, yet it remains a part of me. The ache, the memories, and the longing are all still present. However, this piece is not solely about one place or one person; it’s about all of us. It addresses the invisible lines we inherit; those drawn from fear, politics, and history, as well as the lines we never drew: the connections between us as human beings. 

This track embodies grief, yes, but it also carries hope and a quiet kind of love for those we will never meet but still mourn. I share it with an open heart, and I hope it creates space for yours as well 🤍
