The 54th release on Sound Avenue finds the label showcasing two brand new remixes of 'Eye' by Kastis Tarrau & Arnas D. Originally released in June of 2014 'Eye' was the lead track on the Lithuanian duo's best selling EP for the Belgian imprint. It's contemporary club sensibility found a home in a broad range of DJ sets and a year later still retains its fresh edge. Sound Avenue now presents two brand new interpretations from Nikko.Z and Desaturate which update the track for the summer season.

The first interpretation of 'Eye' is provided by Nikko.Z who is making his fourth appearance on the label. The Greek producer and Dopamine Music label boss was one of Sound Avenue’s core artists during the label’s early years, and has also appeared on Hernan Cattaneo’s Sudbeat Music and Proton Music. Nikko is fresh off a brilliant remix for 'Dreamcatcher' by Lautaro Varela and Uvo and he's turned in an excellent interpretation of 'Eye' here as well. Anchored by deadly beats, charged rhythms and a grungy foundation, Nikko's mix sets a big presence early. Clever layering adds a fresh breakbeat vibe to the driving groove while bold hooks push the piece into the main breakdown. A sizeable tension mounts as indistinct sirens spiral and acidic rhythms bubble to an effervescent boil. A rush of beats and drums brings the groove back in as a barrage of claps and haunting vocal elements takes you further into the stratosphere. Massive remix from Nikko and certainly one of the biggest of his career.

The second and final interpretation of 'Eye' is provided by Desaturate who is making his second appearance on the label. As one half of the famed Progress Inn duo Janko Dragovic aka Desaturate is on a new path with this brand new moniker. It’s already brought much success, with his first ever EP (courtesy of E Sound Records) enjoying a one month long stay in the Beatport Progressive house chart. Subsequent appearances on Madloch’s Sound Avenue 01 CD and Dopamine Music have already made Desaturate a household name in the progressive underground, which he’s sure to build on here with an excellent interpretation of ‘See’. Getting underway with an electric groove, rolling bass stabs and alien-like designs there's a peak time mentality conveyed straight away. As the piece builds momentum, a wealth of rhythmic elements bounce off each other while indistinct motifs develop in the background. A soft chordal overlay initiates a brief and well timed break before one final charge ensues for the ultimate finish. A cool and classy interpretation from Desaturate which rounds out a superb remix pack from Sound Avenue. Don't miss it.

Nikko.Z was born in 1985 in Greece. From a very young age, he expressed his great love for music. Bands like ‘Pink Floyd’ and ‘The Doors’ were a great inspiration for him.

Hernan Cattaneo, Sasha and John Digweed were among those artists who were and still are a role model for Nikko and those who influenced him deeply at the age of 14. Growing up, he started exploring and listening to electronic music as well as DJing, which after a while became a real love for electronic music and a big passion. That was when the purpose was born, to produce his own tracks and leave his musical mark.

In 2006 he studied electronic music production in SAE International Institute of Athens. Over the past fifteen years he has created several productions in his own studio. More than 20 different labels from all over the world have trusted and released his productions. He has also presented his dj sets as a guest at several internet radio stations, such as Proton Radio, Frisky Radio, CrossFm, Golden Wings, Dance Radio and in many clubs in Europe, South America and the USA.  His tracks have been remixed by Hernan Cattaneo and Soundexile (Orange Bus - Movement Recordings, Slope - Dopamine) 

His music has received support from artists like Hernan Cattaneo, John Digweed, Sasha, Paul Oakenfold, Dave Seaman, Nick Warren, Satoshi Tomiie, Marco Carola, Anthony Pappa, Armin Van Buuren, Paul Van Dyk and many more.

Since 2012 he successfully runs the record label Dopamine and the sub label Dopamine White with more of 100 releases of artists from around the world. Among them is also Hernan Cattaneo who produced a remix of Nikko's track Slope. The releases receive great feedback and support from the most renowned artists of the scene. 

The last five years he has been sharing his knowledge on music production by delivering courses in music institutes such as the Tsitsanis Museum.
