This track is the last one on my album, and it's supposed to be some sort of pleasant/easy closure after all of the hammering, and also the exit from the album as an awakening back to reality.

The track was originally designed around the idea of being asleep, and then being woken by rays of sun hitting your face. You can hear the sleepy filtered down melody to start, and then the sun rising and the rays coming through early on in the track, as a positive element from which the rest of the day and track are built around. 

I also used some binaural recordings from a market in Mexico City in this track, you can just about hear some people shouting and general human activity of the beginning of the day as the track develops.

Commencing the 10th anniversary celebrations with a free compilation entitled Erased Tapes Collection VIII, Erased Tapes also welcomes the iconic Penguin Cafe to the roster amongst tracks from new signing Daniel Brandt (of Brandt Brauer Frick) and Peter Broderick’s duo project Allred & Broderick. It also includes recent compositions by Rival Consoles, A Winged Victory For The Sullen, Ben Lukas Boysen, Douglas Dare and Immix Ensemble & Vessel, as well as a previously unreleased soundcloud.com/ryan-davis remix of Erased Tapes stalwarts Ólafur Arnalds & Nils Frahm which was recently favoured by Aphex Twin and an exclusive edit of Woodkid & Nils Frahm’s score for JR’s Ellis, with spoken words by Robert De Niro.

The Story before: 

When i heard the Album Trance Frendz of Olafur Arnalds & Nils Frahm for the first time, i directly felt a connection to the song they both started together at 00:26. The fine textures of the synths and the subtle evolution in this one-taker brought up the idea of having a version i can play in the late nights on the dance floor but which also would work perfectly for listening in your comfort zone. 

The drums and way of how the remix should flow came naturally and as i had the song standing i layered the original stems here and there to have the track playing in some kind of canon. As i was very happy with my personal version i sent it out to https://soundcloud.com/olafur-arnalds, https://soundcloud.com/erasedtapes & the rest of the participants of this project. Gladly Olafur picked up my remix and forwarded the song to the label which lead to having this unofficial version approved to share with you out there. I hope you like it and thanks to Erased Tapes and all involved for the support :)

A 17-year-old boy is at the odds with himself and the world. Pretty normal. But the coming-of-age-story “Es war einmal Indianerland” is not normal: it’s exceptional. Thrilling. Imaginative. The narration is virtousic, just as the attendant nominated novel by Nils Mohl who also wrote the screenplay – in collaboration with Max Reinhold. A psychedelic city-western ! Charged with pictures full of symbolism that are composed into a hypnotic whirl by Ilker Çatak – who won the Max-Ophüls price and who has been distinguished with the student Oscar for « Sadakat ». Another highlight : the outstanding cast. Newcomer Leonard Scheicher (« Quellen des Lebens ») as protagonist Mauser in between Jackie played by Emilia Schüle (« Ku’damm ’56, « Jugend ohne Gott »), and Edda played by Johanna Polley (« Mumbai »). „Tuur mang Welten“ - translated „Journey between Worlds“ is the melodious title of Niklas Paschburg's first EP. 

Niklas is originally from the big city, but lives in the countryside now. Aged four he played his first notes on the piano of his grandparents. Aged five he took piano lessons by his own request. Unlike other musicians, who feel a longing to move to world metropoles, Niklas, after having northern German harbors, seagulls, and fish markets in his life now enjoys the southern loneliness of forests, wide landscapes and the fragrant scent of pine woods. 
Inspired by both worlds Niklas creates an acoustic symbiosis in form of enchanting piano compositions with fine electronic additions on his EP „Tuur mang Welten“. 

His debut Single „DAWN“, which is also contained in the EP, captures the pulse of the city in a charming and touching way. While you are most likely to hear the echoes of urban life in this piece, "Tuur mang Welten" also features quieter and darker musical realms.
