she sounded real distracted and a little bit iffy
i didn't overthink it cause that would make it tricky
probably  just the side effects of smoking the piffy

so i hopped out of my bed and my got my day started
i had a clear head hadn't smoked since i saw her
threw on some shoes, saw the sun thru my window
perfect day to go outside and feel the wind blow
so i went and took a stroll in the park
and who do i see asking a dude for a spark?

picking up customers walking thru the flowers
she told me i was more than just clientele
well what would you say if you were tryna make a sale
as i watched some dude and donna walk into the sunset
feeling abused and i haven't smoked a blunt since

I pushed through and what came out of it was the first piece of music I've written on the piano, and my first beat I've ever made in Ableton. This is the first single I'll be releasing off my upcoming album, "Hodgepodge", I hope you guys like this new sound I've found.

I gave this mixtape the title DENISE for a number of reasons, but the main reason being this: I was going through a phase where i was making music  , but the excitement i had for the process just wasnt fully there. Denise and i have been friends since summer of 09 and what really brought us together like it does so many others is our love for music and similar tastes. As is the way of life there came a time where we werent as close and at some point didnt even talk, but when we were both ready to breath life back into our friendship the eagerness to show her my growth as an artist resparked my creativity and enthusiasm. So for that i dedicate this tape to my truest friend and faithful lover.
