Taking inspiration from his surroundings deep in the Tulum jungle, medicine man LUM takes us on an otherworldly trip, delivering a truly stunning EP for Crosstown sub-label Rebellion, featuring a remix from American duo Bedouin.
 
“The ceremony starts in the jungle,’ explains LUM of the EP’s journey, ‘‘Urpillay’ calls the spirits and asks permission for the celebration. It’s warm, deep strings and pianos lead us to connect with the inner self and mother earth. Bedouin brings the jungle to the dance floor with a powerful remix’. LUM goes on to say, ‘the trumpets, percussion and the angelic voice in ‘Plegaria’ are to say thanks. ’Baaxal’ is a reinterpretation of Mayan music, the spirit of the jungle present. 90 bpm, hypnotic, and 741 hz to awaken intuition. The deep voices of the tribe in ’Canto de la Tierra’ reminds us to live in harmony with the earth. The flutes are the sound of the earth, wind & bamboo.”

What inspired you to produce the track? 

MEG (@elmegmuzika) & @s-atmana: The tack was inspired mainly by the oscillating motion. We were having a deep discussion about sound oscillations and different types of waves. Also, the oscillating vibrations of the cosmos. We started experimenting and manipulating sounds and different wavelengths, which gave birth to a new project we kept working on and eventually called it Oscillis. 

Where did you record it? And how? We did it at Yervant's home studio, where the magic happened. Serge and Yervant are very close friends spend a lot of time at each other’s places. Playing around with different patterns and melodies on Ableton Live we recorded everything from scratch using midi controllers without any samples. 

How did you get in contact with the record label? 

Yervant was in contact with the record label. MEG had already released a free download on the label a few months ago called "Simba Bwe". 

What’s up next after the release? Are you working on any other projects? 

We are actually working on a funky edit together that is going to be released on our new channel “Musik Der Seele” which is launching very soon on SoundCloud and a tribal track with our brother from the Netherlands Deep Filip. We all got together a week before burning man and had some fun in the studio. As for individual projects, Atmana will be releasing a podcast on Magician on Duty sometime during next month. As for MEG, we will be releasing an EP album on Pipe & Pochet, another couple of tracks on a compilation on Nocturnal records, and then another EP on Souq records. So stay tuned!

MEG & Atmana - Oscillis

When it comes to telling a good story Los Suruba come up with the most intriguing combinations of imagination and sound. 
The eleventh release of their imprint NAZCA Records is here and it is full of novelties. 
As we know this label is the reflection of the cooperation between the advanced world of the Viracochas, beings from other planets and the archaic world of the Nazcas, deeply attached to art and nature. 
From this idea comes ‘Viracochas Volume I’ the first of a series where, with every release, two artists can display their talent and style. This entirely new concept is inspired by contrast and diversity at its finest.  

The first to introduce us to the fantastic world of the Viracochas are the producers Dandara from Switzerland and the Russian Rapossa. Both of them step in hard with two tracks that will not leave you indifferent. 

Dandara´s Original Mix ‘Phala’ seems to take you on a musical journey rich in minimal elements that contrast with exotic beats and hypnotic twists of synths. A song where the baseline is marked by barefoot dance steps on a dusty land. 
Rapossa´s ‘House Of Cards’ is a track that mixes discrete industrial elements that blend with shamanic beats. A production filled with circular sound elements that are anchored in the past, present and future.

The future in music is now, and The Viracochas know it, become part of this fantastic musical journey on its release date, next….
