Berlin-based italo-disco record label Slow Motion mark their return with the full-length release 'Cafe Futuro', the sophomore album from label boss Franz Scala...Our pick is the fifth track ‘Saxon Rebel’ - a sleek, hyper stylised descent into the nocturnal undercurrents of Northern Germany. Co-produced by Local Suicide, the track operates at a steady 120 BPM, maintaining an unflinching tension without ever rushing. Acid-washed synth lines snake through layers of gleaming new beat arpeggios, while Vamparela’s Greek spoken-word passages lend an air of ritualistic mystique. The result is a seductive time-warp, where fragments of ancient rites and sci-fi futures converge into an hallucinatory dancefloor reverie.

Wenn wir keine Fragen mehr haben und uns die Antworten zugeflogen kommen, wenn der nächste Schritt die natürlichste Sache der Welt ist: Manche nennen das Glück, Mark Brainford und Joe Fisher nennen es Flow: Melodischer Techno voller oszillierender Details und pulsierender Portale durch den ein verträumtes Vocal schwebt. Im Remix von Mono&Kusten geht die Sonne auf, dementsprechend warm und hell fühlt sich diese Version an. Die trancigen Synthie-Linien und modulierenden Arpeggios von Lume schlängeln sich zwischen dem Krachen der Snare hindurch und zeichnen dabei das flimmernde Bild eines Festival-Dancefloors. Der Remix von Alex Hoevelmann bewegt sich auf Broken Beats zwischen chilliger Electronica und entspanntem Tanz, die Piano-Sounds und das Vocal erzeugen dicke Gänsehaut.
