For this edition of our transmissions we welcome Ertmi (@ertmi), the talented Romanian DJ and producer to the playing field!

Strolling through a jungle of sensations, you may start to ponder what exactly constitutes the thing you call 'I'. 'I am ...' you say, but struggle to find a worthy definition. A blob of atoms, molecules, cells, bacteria? Kind, brave? The body, the mind? Perception itself, or what they call consciousness? What would you be if you could perceive nothing with your senses? Pure imagination? Soon you forget this thought and keep strolling, with more questions than answers.

In the 38 issue of Koche Records we are listening to Lexia Majora (@lexiamajora). Lexia is a Romanian DJ based in Exeter where she’s currently studying for a PhD in Anthropology and focusing on the ro-minimal community. She’s shared the booth with names such as Daniel Avery, Afrodeutsche, Mall Grab and Skin on Skin, to name a few. She’s also co-managed Room 303 and Sister Sounds nights in Exeter, and recently headlined an Epika night in Edinburgh. 

Lexia Majora enjoys and specialises in hard groove techno, but is equally versed in minimal house and techno. This mix explores the depths and complexities of (ro)minimal, and focuses on the beauty of overlapping sound, textures, and various moods.

SHORT BIO

Born in Iran and a citizen of Denmark since the early ’80s, Nima Gorji is based in Ibiza from where he continues to influence the international electronic music scene with his distinct style and vision. His career spans more than 30 years, having a beautiful beginning in Copenhagen’s club scene around the time when the modern house and techno music were taking shape, capturing people’s attention more and more. In 1995 he began a residency at the iconic Club, now remembered as one of the most known underground clubs in Copenhagen, where he played alongside numerous renowned DJs, slowly building on his name. His relocation to Spain brought him extended collaborations with Ibiza Underground, Monza, FUSE, Pyramid, Zoo project and Next Wave while in 2010 he was awarded “Best Ibiza Resident DJ”.
In 1999 Nima Gorji founded Welt Recordings alongside partner, followed by NG Trax and Need For Sound alongside his partner, relentlessly following his passion for electronic music by releasing numerous personal works as well as promoting other artists. His rich discography also includes materials published through labels like SCI+TEC, Deeperfect, Fuse London, Bondage Music, Out Of Orbit, Love Letters From Oslo, Indigo Raw, Cocoon Compilation , Murmur, Bla Bla Records, ÉTÉ, BodyParts and Melodeum, while others have been dispatched through Bandcamp
