this song is inspired by 'How I Met Your Mother'. i wrote it after rewatching the show for the umpteenth time. ted always makes these grand gestures for robin, and i remember thinking i would be way happier if someone showed their love in simpler ways. that's what this song is about. you don't need grand gestures to show your significant other you love them. it's the little, ordinary things that mean the most (to me at least).

i wrote this one when i just dropped out of university because i decided i want to do music instead. it was both one of the easiest and hardest choices i have ever had to make. i had never been more sure if myself, yet i had never felt more insecure. it describes the inner battles we face when we do something we’re told we can’t and the ever-present question that follows: can i be enough?

this song is so special to me. it's about reminiscing about a past relationship/friendship and how certain places and objects that were so important to you then are just 'things' now. it's also about picking yourself back up, and letting your wounds turn to scars.
