Lose yourself in a melody
A swell of strings with an angelic melancholy
Or a fanfare leaving you emotionally raw
In a way, that music has got you bad.

Centuries passing, same old men gassing
That wood and metal and skin
Just sound better if it's played with a penis
But what you gotta ask is
If that's true, then what am I doing here?

Can you love something when you know it cannot love you back?
Grandiose, leaves a young audience comatose
But the older gen are crying in their rows

Velvet curtains don't just hide the stage
There's issues hidden from your gaze
Down in the pit where they treat you like shit
And musically, it's much of the same

Lose yourself
At your own risk baby
Take a seat
And watch your own life from the stage

You're gonna spend a decade crying in your room
Hating your life and your instrument too
Told everyday that you're bad or a failure
Better be a teacher, that's the only way they're gonna pay you

Yeah you've got your heart set on it
But just make sure that you haven't got tits
'Cos they'll distract or detract or some shit like that
No matter how hard you try you're always gonna fall flat

Passion's a watchword but at the end it's absurd how little it really matters
You wanna be the best you can
You think the orchestral world is so glamorous
But i dare you to just stand back and take a real look

Now i'm not here to offend you
I'm just here to stand up for my gender
Because the days you can beat us down

Lawrence Of Suburbia

A piece written in the quiet and calm of the early hours. Born out of the frustration and anguish of sleep deprivation. This is a slow and pensive piece with many rises and falls. The last fall is, to sleep. 

Speakers or headphones recommended. 

Awake Asleep

Double bassist and vocalist, Nina's music draws on influences such as Bjork, Mogwai and Patti Smith, Nina's groundbreaking work emphasises the versatility and primal power of the double bass, encompassing a huge variety of genre, setting her apart and simultaneously making any real classification impossible.
Collaborating with producer Peter Miles and co-producer and musician Joel Harries; her debut album was released September 2019 and is available on Soundcloud, Bandcamp & Spotify.
