This is the second episode of our monthly podcast 'Nachtstrom Sessions‘ mixed by Dave Wincent!

Dave Wincent was born in Miskolc, Hungary. Since the age of 12, he has been completely consumed by music. He started out on his musical journey learning to play the drums and saxophone. So, it was from a very early age that he recognised and understood rhythm and melody. By the age of 14, he began to take music seriously, with the goal of performing at a professional level, at the top of his to-do list.

Like most, Dave started out playing at small parties in Hungary and on the local radio stations. He would spend all of his money growing his record collection. Soon after starting to DJ regularly and by the age of 16, he became interested in the production side of the music he was playing. The deeper he delved into it, the more important it became for him to learn and produce his own music. He first made music, using only his computer before expanding his equipment set up to include analog and digital Synthesizers. He worked very hard to develop his own unique style both behind the decks as a DJ and in the studio as a music producer.

In recent years Dave’s career has blossomed and he has been booked for more and more shows. This gave him the opportunity for travel and to reach audiences further afield in Miskolc and in the City of Budapest.

In 2009, Dave Wincent released his first artist EP. This changed everything for him. In recent years with releases on Materia, SOMA, Phobos Records, KD Raw, Olympian, and Nachstrom Schallplatten, he is building quite the production discography. These releases have been the key to his success in building his profile to be globally recognisable.

Dave loves what he does as an artist. Reaching people across the world with his music has and will always be the dream. Long may this continue!

Our December 2024 ‘Monthly Techno Mixshow’ features an hour-long mix from #BSKD.

#BSKD is a Ukrainian techno DJ and producer, a resident of NECHTO records. He was previously a promoter and resident of the local techno party named "ЛОЖЬ" at the oldest club in Kharkiv, 'Zhivot'. He is now based in Montreal, CA. He has released fast, groove, and acid tracks on various labels: Luminar Records, Space Shuttle Recordings, NXT Records, OBSCUUR, Krill Music, Abaddon, TERRA FURIA, Possession techno, BE AS ONE, Deestricted, NECHTO records.

Canadian/British, Berlin based DJ, producer and label-head Tommy Lewis has been making waves around the globe with his unique sound. Tommy Lewis’ mixing and production style is characterised by groovy and up-tempo rhythms, both hypnotic and upbeat rhythmic. Lewis is the co-founder and label manager of PHTM, a label and collective established in 2019, centered around pushing the boundaries of driving and hypnotic Techno. Tommy Lewis has made a name for himself on an international scale, having toured extensively across North America and Europe. 

Tommy Lewis’ productions comprise raw, minimal textures and percussive elements, with a timeless sound crafted perfectly for the dancefloor. This mix begins with an experimental selection at a slow and steady pace and builds with a crescendo, increasing tempo and intensity and seamlessly transitioning in to dark, hypnotic rhythms.

Fernando Sanz aka @orbeartist has been steadfastly dedicated to the craft of beats and breaks since he was a young sprout of 14 years in the sun baked southern Spanish port city of Algeciras. Under the imprint Orbe Records, Sanz has cultivated his own thriving techno community as artist and label head. Since 2014 Orbe Records has been lashing the block rocking techno of Sanz’s comrades Eduardo De La Calle and Steve Stoll, but mostly of Sanz’s own prolific moniker, Orbe.
