It is Monday the 23rd of December 2013 and we have DJ Emerson back on the CLR Podcast with a generous two hours long live set from one of his recent gigs at CLR´s weekly “Disturbance” night at Arena Club in Berlin. In 2014 the long-time label artist and prolific producer will be releasing exciting new music, for example a remix for Michael Schwarz on Wall Music and an EP on Markantonio´s Analytic Trail imprint, including a remix by Flug. DJ Emerson stands for quality Techno with an extra portion of groove and has made himself an excellent name in the scene. I am based in Berlin and born in Hamburg, where the experimental music scene shaped my perspective on sound. Also the classical background in piano put the focus in early age on selecting and playing music.
My emotional Techno journeys are seeking high energy levels in a playful way, with twists of Trance, Gabber and beyond. I feel most comfortable outside of the comfort zone!


 • What are your artistic influences apart from electronic music ? 
I am deeply rooted in the experimental/noise scene and also enjoy post punk, dark wave, old japanese pop, hardcore punk and ambient black metal. I also feel influenced by art in general and love to visit exhibitions and museums.

As the label owner of 'Required Noise', he curates an eclectic catalog of electronic music from around the world that strives to serve as a therapeutic driver to further bridge gaps in mental wellness.

Monthly Techno Mixshow - 2psyched [November 2024]

Our January 2025 ‘Monthly Techno Mixshow’ features an hour-forty-minute, all-vinyl mix from PS11.

PS11 is the project of Matthew Antico, a NY-based DJ and producer whose introduction to electronic music began in the mid-90s while living in Los Angeles. After relocating to Queens, NY, in 1996, he adopted the alias DJ ELEVEN and immersed himself in the NYC underground techno scene, honing his skills as a DJ by spinning fast-paced, percussive techno at underground parties and weekly residencies.

After a long hiatus from DJing, Matt adopted the name PS11 in 2018 and became deeply focused on music production, mastering the intricacies and technical aspects of electronic music creation. Embracing a “less is more” approach, his sound—heavily influenced by his past—is raw, often combining repetitive percussive elements and evolving synths while maintaining a strong focus on the dance floor with heavy, bass-driven rhythms.

In October 2022, PS11 landed his first release on Mastoid Kollektive’s PINK 2 various artists compilation, followed by EP and VA releases on Chicago Jaxxx, E-HRZN Records, EvilGroove, ASS3, BCCO, Duplicity, Splatter, and Life In Patterns.
