This track marks the second release from Boukas new series, titled “Inkel Stories.” It blends Boukas’ dreamy musical style with Antons’ playful keyboard melodies and Kristoffer Eikrems impressive trumpet performances. The composition encapsulates the sensation of a tranquil morning stroll toward a meaningful destination, set against a backdrop of radiant sunlight that fills one with hope. The piece evokes a blend of timeless charm reminiscent of 1950s New York combined with the contemporary vibe of Stockholm in 2023. Notably, the track has been recorded onto cassette, imparting a delightful vintage ambiance with the unique characteristic of analog equipment.

“Inkel Stories” represents Boukas’ latest series, deriving its name from his acquisition of new equipment, including a 4-track cassette deck and an Inkel mixer. The distinctive characteristics of this mixer, featuring an inherently gritty sound along with a built-in delay effect, are perceptible throughout the record, notably on elements like snare drums. Notably, a significant portion of the creative expressions woven throughout this EP have been organically crafted by human hands – In an era marked by the AI-driven and technologically-mediated artistic approach. Inkel Stories project stands as a deliberate counterpoint, an ode to authenticity. With sincere anticipation, we extend the hope that this musical creation resonates profoundly with your senses.

From Boukas – This is the third and the last track of Boukas new series ”Inkel Stories”. The song has a mix of Boukas dreamy style, with punchy drums and an overall organic feeling. Mixed with Antons playfulness on keys. This song represent the vibe of getting back from work, sitting on the commuter train away from the big city, looking out of the window, daydreaming. It has been recorded to cassette which gives the track a nice dusty feeling, with all the characteristics that analog gear can give. 

EP Biography: ”Inkel Stories” is the new series from Boukas. The name comes from that Boukas bought some new gear which included a 4-track cassette deck, and a mixer from Inkel. The mixer has a dirty sound with a built in delay, which can be heard for example on snare drums throughout the record. Boukas always work with music that is a represantion of situations in life. He likes to work with black and white music, which gives the listener the opportunity to add in color, which is also represented on the covers. The cover photos are taken by Boukas with a Ilford Delta 3200 film of the places and situations that gave inspiration to the tracks. The cover and music are in a symbiosis with the grainy pictures and grainy soundscapes. So the music and the pictures are analogue.

The title itself, “Peachtree,” hints at the warm, summery vibes the track encapsulates. It’s a beat that feels like a lazy afternoon spent under the shade of a peach tree, sipping on iced tea and watching the world go by. Konteks has managed to capture the essence of tranquility and serenity through his music. In collaboration with Steezyasfuck, a label synonymous with curating cutting-edge music that transcends genres, was the perfect collaborator for Konteks on this project.

This exciting Friday brings a fresh collaboration, as we witness the dynamic German beat maker duo, Phil Tyler and P.DIGGEDY, joining forces for their latest project, Sundown, part of their upcoming EP, Rhythms.

It’s particularly thrilling for me to hear these two producers come together, as their styles share striking similarities yet maintain their unique individuality. Zack, the saxophonist, graced us with his presence as he came down for the day to jam with us. His energy and passion for music never faltered and he always went above and beyond in helping us with laying down some rhodes. We were grateful for his contribution as it really made a difference in the overall sound and flow of the session. 

As we worked through the music, we were amazed at how smoothly everything was going. We were all thrilled with the results and could see that there were many more fruitful collaborations on the horizon with Zack.
