Hope you're having a great year so far. We are deep in the heat of Summer 2024.

Here is my first released mix, playing tracks from some of my favourite and long admired artists :) if you would like to hear the version with live improvised violin, just head to the playlist. 
We start in the deeper sounds and move through to pure party vibes at the end. It's very varied in style by the end, and although that isn't for everyone, I hope some of you can soak in the summer energy from this set. Enjoy the chaos of me fully knocking my violin out of tune at one point and dropping my bow, haha, waah! 😬

Ning-Ning Li - 'The First One' Summer Mix 2024 [With Violin]

After a lot of playing, pondering, recording, listening and face-painting (and my amazing housemate grooving with the beats!) I am stoked to finally contribute my submission for the CNTRL X After Capsosile DJ Competition!

I've have loved the challenge of a warm up set in general, as it can present a moment to be creative and think outside the box of how to capture an ear. 

Looking forward to hearing the diversity of sounds coming from the competition, and it's a real thrill to take part in my first competition.

I performed this set with my electric violin, so you'll hear this sprinkled throughout! I hope you enjoy, please like and share if it resonates, and thank you so much for taking the time to listen x

Greetings friends.

Happy Christmas and Happy New Year for 2025!

Video No. 2: my first Liquid Drum & Bass mix, with electric violin on a wild Maldivian island (named Chicken Island as they have a small farm of chickens on there) - please sit back and enjoy the excerpts of island and boat views dotted throughout.

NOTE: For some reason my laptop wouldn't recognise my Focusrite (probably a lot going on for it already) so I had to sadly overdub it afterwards. However I hope you still enjoy the sounds, and gives you an idea of what I would play live.

STORY:
We are (very gratefully) booked for work over the festive period performing Christmas and New Year once again in The Maldives. I saw opportunity and packed my little DDJ400 into my suitcase for the adventure.
We were given the chance to explore the island a couple of times over the course of the stay, with locals as our guide. The first night we went at dusk and witnessed the most beautiful + peaceful sunset over the ocean, and the Milky Way in all its glory. The second day we went as a bigger troupe, had a BBQ, snorkelling etc, which ended as the perfect setting for this liquid mix.

I'm very new to collecting liquid dnb tracks. Here I play some of my favourite tunes from admired artists and favourites to play my violin to.

I really hope you enjoy, and hope it can transcend your imagination to wherever you want to be.

And with that we welcome FEBRUARY, and BYE to January that everybody hates (my birthday month bye bye)

After an exciting debut at Afta Dark x Lab11 in Birmingham in January, I've collated some tracks I played that night alongside others into a January Fix Up Mix Up February Welcome Mix - expect warming grooves, to counteract the baltic grey nature of the UK outside. 

This version is without violin, with violin version coming soon.
Just pulling my hair out first over technology :D

Febbers babes.

Finally got round to editing the video for my new February Mix, where we travel through underground tech house, progressive and minimal house, and as per!!! Recorded with my violin.

February Welcome Pack Mix '25 [WITH LIVE VIOLIN]

This May I had the honour of not just visiting Japan for the first time, but also performing a DJ set out in the Japanese mountains for House Not House events at the Nikko Riverhouse Hostel in Tochigi! I joined Birmingham's own Tom Shorterz and a fabulous troupe of DJs based in Japan spinning their own styles and ambience, soundtracking the beautiful surroundings. The day turned to dusk, with the river rushing down beside the mountain and fresh countryside air on our faces, with good food and good company.

For this set I went in groovy and melodic, playing some of my go-to tracks mixed in with some old faves that I've enjoyed playing out in Birmingham for the past few months for my first few larger scale DJ sets.

A real pleasure to party with the Japan crew and WHAT an adventure!

Welcome to a musical advent for 2025 - the December Countdown Series, Mix No. 1! 🌟

Having done illustrated advent calendars in the past on socials, my bestie gave me the idea to do it with music this year, so we came up with the weekly series idea for this month, counting down the days til 2026 🩶✨

It's time to get cosy, in the PJs, dance round with your hot toddies, get holly jolly, bring the cat/dog, family, bezzy mate + beyond and let's move through December putting one dancing foot in front of the other. 🪩

How's your December going so far?

This one we movin' steady. 

I've been ill the past week, and with a bit of a mental schedule the past couple weeks, I feel like it's taken so much out of me and energy was DOWN. But the music was healing. 

So here we are, steady but GROOVY.
