This song is intended as a lighthearted look at two generous-hearted, and fun-loving personalities, who just happen to have opposing views on their relationship.. I once knew a young man who spent his days holed up in his room, lonely, frustrated, and increasingly embittered against the world, wishing that he had friends and love and a life. But fear of rejection and low self-esteem prevented him from  venturing out to find it, or indeed from opening himself up to anyone, or embracing it when an opportunity did present itself.   A number of years after I wrote this song, he suffered a serious stroke and was left partially paralized and brain damaged.   Carpe Diem.
