DEEP LOLO 3

Genial welcomes 2014 with a new release and at the same time a new member in its roster. It’s the Italy based DJ and producer Leon who already has an impressive discography on labels like Cecille, Saved, Defected and many many more. 

On Genial he debuts with a track that has caused havoc every single time it got played for the past 6 months in clubs all over the world. King Of The Jungle takes us back to the past with its old school break beat, while the robot-esque vocal sample brings a flavour from the future.

On the remix duties, the label favourite Egal 3 provides a deep atmospheric version full of haunting synths and fxs, totally written for those late mornings when you just want to get lost in the music. On the b side, Danish producer Martinez is taking us to an almost 14 minutes trip with his Concealed Dub mix, with a deep but very groovy bass and a special arrangement which will keep you going from the start to end.

The end of 2014 is near and Genial is more than happy to introduce you to BAL, a new project based in Italy. BAL is an alias for the well known producers Andrea Bigi & Marius Laurentiu, who have previously released in labels such as Viva Music and Catwash Records. 

With their Rhythmatic EP in Genial they are entering into a new sound territory presenting 3 original tracks with their main characteristics being minimal groovy drums, deep trippy samples and most importantly subtle bass.

Taking over the remix, is the mysterious Iovan Iorgovan, whose name is a character in Romanian mythology. So hailing from Romania, he gives his interpretation of ‘’Le Vent’’ and goes even deeper using the dream synths and atmospheric vocals of the original track.

I do however want to continue re-imagining songs and giving my interpretation of them for you to play and listen to and so i'll be giving the reworks away for free. I have set up a donations page if anyone wanted to help with covering the costs of mastering future tracks as i'd still want the best sound possible as I can't afford to be paying for it all myself.

The two Greek DJs and producers, Nino Santos and Lightem, met in the right place at the right time. Even though they started mixing in an early age separately, together they got noticed worldwide for their electronic music sound. 

They are the production masterminds behind released tracks and remixes for established labels such as Memoria Recordings, Monique Musique, Cray1 Labworks and Zoo:Technique. For their first EP “Every Time”, which reached the Top 10 Must Hear House Tracks, the two producers have poured the essence of their joint musical background into contemporary molds and managed to turn raw emotion and passion into music. Since then they take extra care to produce quality deep pulsing house tracks. One of their most successful tracks, “Fairytale”, stayed on the Top 100 Tech House list for several weeks, while DJ Sneak charted it and Steve Lawler played it at Timewarp Festival.

Nino Santos & Lightem are firm believers that the long hours of studio work is what keeps a musician grounded. This work has given them plenty of experience to succeed as headline performers. Their skilfully developed sets are both classy and elegant, but surely never predictable. The two DJs are well-known for their technical musical knowledge. The duo has performed both in national and international clubs, like Cavo Paradiso (Greece), Le Pigallion and Spartacus (France), as well as in Off-Sonar Week Festival in Barcelona. Also they have played along respectable DJs such as Ricardo Villalobos, Raresh, Andrea Oliva, Leon, Livio & Roby, Robert Dietz and many more.

In 2011, together they decided to found “Genial”, one of the few highly respected and promising Greek labels. One thing’s for sure: the future continues to be bright for Nino Santos & Lightem, whose shared vision will help their “sound signature” remain fadeless.
