This project is a love letter to the Mega Drive and Sonic the Hedgehog, written and composed over nearly 3 years. If you were wondering why I've been super inconsistent with my uploads on SoundCloud, or just at all, this project is the reason why! A lot of time, blood, sweat and tears were poured into Sonic Aeons, so I really hope that you enjoy what you hear!

this was inspired by both rrthiel’s original and especially joy’s cover as you might can tell! this is my first time using furnace and it’s fantastic. the only tracker ive used is LSDJ before now... i just get this weird paralysis whenever i try to learn a pc-based tracker, so that’s been a big roadblock for me.

however, ive been growing more and more unsatisfied with fl studio for chiptune now. im continuing to become more ambitious with what i want to do and accomplish with my chiptune, things that are really difficult in fl. (which, last month i was working on a cover that really abused the hell out of Genny’s controls lol. maybe ill transcribe it over to furnace and finish it one day) this has unfortunately caused me a lot of burnout, if you couldn’t tell by my soundcloud page. i talked about a lot of this in the soundcloud description for [MMC5] Mixed Match - Tetris & Dr. Mario, so i’m not going to copy and paste all of it here. if you’re curious to read, feel free.

on the bright side, this is also doubling as my first time really doing anything with 2xYM2612! im really excited to see what the other chips here have in store for me, now that im no longer limited to just whatever vsts exist

also i need to reclaim my role of ginger root superfan chiptunist so that was also a factor
