Third Eye Blind and Peter Getty let Troubaduo sing a “Song for Peace”

"Song for Peace" by Troubaduo was recorded under unique circumstances. Jill and Bryson Van Cleve of Troubaduo were on tour, traveling through San Francisco, California. Vagabond musicians who traveled the U.S. playing bars, breweries and hippie festivals, had no plan of booking a gig at the most famous residence in San Francisco. But sometimes rags meets riches, and Troubaduo suddenly found themselves at the Sherman House of Peter Getty. Yes, Peter Getty, grandson of multi-billionaire J. Paul Getty who donated the Getty Museum in Los Angeles. Peter Getty allowed his friends and Bay area musicians Third Eye Blind to set up shop at his residence. Mixer/Producer Sean Beresford for Third Eye Blind was running a world class studio there. Sean happened to be good friends with Spectrasonics Sound Designer and West Co Pedals founder Bob Daspit, who happened to be great friends with Troubaduo. Bob explained to Sean that Troubaduo was touring through, looking for a place to record. After permission from the powers that be, Troubaduo was invited to record at the Sherman House residence in Third Eye Blind’s studio.

That day it was safe to say that the illustrious studio experienced a sound it was unaccustomed to; the certified organic folk-Americana music of Troubaduo. Sean Beresford engineered, while Bob Daspit produced “Song for Peace”. The folk duo quickly laid down their two acoustic guitars, followed by Jill on lead vocals and Bryson on mandolin and backing vocals. That was it! It was simple, quick and painless, nonetheless a powerful plea for peace on earth. The only later addition was a cello recorded by Bob Daspit in his home studio.

“Song for Peace” carries a needed message for world peace with lyrics that state, “Paint for unity and love, in spite of hate.” At one point in the song, Jill boldly proclaims how mankind has “crossed the line” with violence, and how we need to “Sing a song for peace”, living a life of preemptive peace no matter what may come.

“Song for Peace” will be released May 1, 2019 on Spotify, Itunes, Apple Music, Amazon, Google Play, Deezer, Tidal and all CD Baby distribution partners worldwide. Troubaduo is grateful to Peter Getty and Third Eye Blind for allowing them the opportunity to record their song for peace, with hopes it will bring reform and social change. Peace!
