Baba Nam Kevalam 
Baba means "my most beloved One", Nam means "name of" or "to identify with", and Kevalam means "only". So the meaning of the mantra is "My most Beloved is the only One." The ideation is: "Everywhere I look, in everything I hear, feel, see, taste and smell, I perceive that one Supreme Consciousness which pervades all things." 

Kiirtan is the singing of a mantra aloud while ideating on the Supreme Being. It inculcates the feeling of bliss and prepares the mind for meditation, because in performing it all the motor and sensory organs are engaged and directed towards the Supreme. It can be done anywhere, any time, but the best time is just before meditation. 
Chanting the mantra out loud before meditation is called "kiirtan." It is extremely beneficial and makes meditation much easier. Its a sort of a halfway step. The mind stays focused only on the mantra, but all the senses are not focused inwardly--we are still singing and listening. It helps slow breathing (through singing), helps fix the mantra in the mind, and on a subtler level, raises the vibration in the room.

This song is a prayer for us to remember our true nature that is infinite, beyond time and space. A prayer for us to remember that there is nothing to heal, only to remember our perfection, our divinity. A prayer for the dissolution of the illusion of separation and the return to oneness.

Many of my songs include a mantra with lyrics in english that are my interpretation of the essence of the mantra.  This song includes a mantra in Gurmukhi which is the language of the Sikh and the Kundalini Yoga lineage - Aad Guray Nameh, Jugaad Guray Nameh, Sat Guray Nameh, Siri Guru Dayvay Nameh. The English meaning of this mantra is - I bow to the Primal Wisdom, I bow to the Wisdom through the Ages, I bow to the True Wisdom, I bow to the great, unseen Wisdom.

This mantra is pure magic - I was doing a 40 day journey with this mantra at the time I conceived my son Kavi, around 12 years ago.  We would rise to watch the sunrise over the ocean in Maui while chanting the mantra every morning for 40 days and over that time so much magic came into my life! I pray that it brings some magic into your life :)

Produced by Nick Barber. This Mantra is recited for healing, rejuvenation and connected to the Shiva. According to a legend, Markandeya was the only one on the earth who knew this mantra. The Moon was once in trouble, when cursed by King Daksha. Markandeya gave the Mahamritryunjaya Mantra to Sati, Daksha's daughter, for the Moon. According to another version this is the Bija mantra as revealed to Rishi Kahola that was given by Lord Shiva to sage Sukracharya, who taught it to Rishi Dadhichi, who gave it to King Kshuva, through whom it reached the Shiva Purana.[6]

This mantra is also called the Rudra mantra, referring to the furious aspect of Shiva; the Tryambakam mantra, alluding to Shiva's three eyes; and it is sometimes known as the Mrita-Sanjivini mantra because it is a component of the "life-restoring" practice given to the primordial sage Sukracharya after he had completed an exhausting period of austerity. Its Devata (patron deity) is Rudra, i.e., Shiva in his fiercest and most destructive roopa or aspect. In the Vedas it finds its place in three texts – a) the Rig veda VII.59.12, b) the Yajur Veda III.60, and c) the Atharva Veda XIV.1.17.[7]
