G.E.M. Sessions 036 With Mosiiqii

The raga saga is a series I have started to act as a cultural collector of my favorite artists from all over, Each raga is in an array of melodic structures with musical motifs. This beautiful saga comes from Copenhagen, Denmark by the new in the scene but now everywhere @dj-flipflop

DJ FlipFlop started his musical journey on the island of Gran Canaria where he at first started playing other artists sets for his guests at his former hostel.
After DJ Koze´s best friend and former partner Cosmic DJ and other German-based DJ´s visited his hostel, he was encouraged to start making his own sets.
What started as an interest quickly became a great passion of the 20-something-year-old Viking.
After 3 years abroad, DJ FlipFlop recently relocated back to his roots in Copenhagen where he is pursuing higher education and is slowly being introduced to the right underground DJ´s in Copenhagen.
What will come next only time will tell.

This LP resonates with the label on many levels. The originals, true to
LUMs sound and nature display his inner world, "LUM is above all a
spiritual encounter, a ritual séance for the acquisition of one’s essence, a ceremony...". 
Well rounded and truly individual are the remixes that complete the release. Julioo, debuts with a heavier darker take on the original. Ohm Hourani, hailing from Montreal take the original under his analog wings and delivers two live jam versions set as vinyl and digital only respectively.

Spend time with yourself and do the things you love. For me, this is making music. Music helps me to calm down and completely let go of everything for a minute. The Kingdom of Benin, also known as the Benin Kingdom, was a pre-colonial kingdom in what is now southern Nigeria. It is not to be confused with Benin, the post-colonial nation state. The Kingdom of Benin's capital was Edo, now known as Benin City in Edo state. The Benin Kingdom was "one of the oldest and most highly developed states in the coastal hinterland of West Africa", it was formed around the 11th century, until it was annexed by the British Empire in 1897. The original people and founders of the Benin Kingdom, the Edo people, were initially ruled by the Ogiso (Kings of the Sky) who called their land Igodomigodo. The first Ogiso (Ogiso Igodo), wielded much influence and gained popularity as a good ruler. He died after a long reign and was succeeded by Ere, his eldest son. In the 12th century, a great palace intrigue erupted and crown prince Ekaladerhan, the only son of the last Ogiso, was sentenced to death as a result of the first queen (who was barren) deliberately changing an oracle's message to the Ogiso. In carrying out the royal order that he be killed, the palace messengers had mercy and set the prince free at Ughoton near Benin. When his father the Ogiso died, the Ogiso dynasty officially ended. The people and royal kingmakers preferred their late king's son as the next to rule. The exiled Prince Ekaladerhan had by this time changed his name to Izoduwa (meaning 'I have chosen the path of prosperity') and found his way to Ile-Ife. It was during this period of confusion in Benin that the elders, led by Chief Oliha, mounted a search for the banished Prince Ekaladerhan - whom the Ife people now called Oduduwa. Oduduwa, who could not return due to his advanced age, granted them Oranmiyan, his grandson, to rule over them. Oranmiyan was for many years the ruler of Africa, the one and only king, who he build the legendary pyramids of Senegal, now vanished, one of the lost wonders of today’s world!!
