“A pretty grueling set for us technically, rain pouring down, a mixer malfunction midway through the set and start delays pushing our time ahead by 3 hours. Yet despite all that, the energy of the crowd and the welcome responsibilities for Finn had us focused and enjoying ourselves to the max. We’d been waiting for an opportunity like this to come and we grabbed it with both hands” says Dr.DJ about his b2b with UNK.

"It was a true privilege being part of the same lineup as one of my personal favorite artists' -  Finnebassen. Loved the atmosphere created and truly enjoyed contributing to the vibe along together with my fellow Black Peach fruits. It was pretty different from the kind of festivals to the ones in Malaysia and I'm happy to be contributing in building the Karachi soundscape. Not to forget, a special thank you to the audience for their big support!" says Abeer about his experience.

We were invited to help the graduating batch of young designers celebrate their entry into the work force.  After a half-hour fusion performance with their music society Dr.DJ let loose (aided by Talha Sami on the Djembe) with some favorites sure to make the night memorable.

"Gigs at universities are always tricky as there are students from a wide variety of backgrounds and musical tastes... and everyone wants to dance and have a memorable night: Fun for me though as I find open format mixing an enjoyable challenge. I got to play a lot of shameless favorites for the crowd and myself and it was lovely to see so many happy faces in the crowd as a result. " says Dr.DJ about his experience.  “Shame we couldn’t record the Djembe fusion going on with this recording though” he adds.

Dr.DJ has a knack of being selected to mould new ventures. With Karachi's fresh filosofi label looking to establish a regular electronica night in the Karachi music kiln our resident practitioner was a natural choice for setting a fun yet classy tone for the night.

"Pretty fun for my first gig of 2018. Was pleasantly surprised to find a good chunk of listeners there specially to hear my set. I was preceded by the rising "dazednconfused" and superceded by the filosofi resident "Gold Knight". My set contains an eclectic balance of the new and old, educators and entertainers. With the crowd attentive to the DJ booth and grooving along to my sound (with a couple of wohooos! thrown in for good measure) I think it was a solid set." says Dr.DJ about his experience with the inaugural Filosofi sessions.

London’s new EVOLVE label is looking to carve a niche for itself in the big city’s concrete jungle. Their multicultural and melodic techno centered aesthetic made our resident practitioner a natural fit.

"New lands, new ambitions. I think this gig will always remain special to me; its my first time abandoning the laptop for standard club equipment(read as=CDJs). I love starting the night and setting up the floor for the subsequent DJ, who in this case was Martin Marquez of Burning Man fame. My fellow DJs and the patrons alike appreciated my selections and I feel everyone there felt the journey in the set, which is the most I can ask for as an artist! "
 said Dr.DJ about his first London gig.
