After the first few very well received releases in the Exposure series; 'Radiant Energy' & 'Luminous Energy', Greyscale is back with a new set of burners directed specifically for the DJ's and the dancefloor. 'Spectral Flux' offers four club monsters that spotlight different emotions and times in a classy deep techno set. First up is one of the top names in Greece recently, Stelios Vassiloudis, who employs his hypnotic deep techno trademark to the EP. Through a field of static electricity, this immense, well programmed animal creeps out from the depths. Confident, and never out of line, a track for a DJ to spin with a big smile as they announced their presence on the decks. Jamie S appears next on the A-side with a dreamy tech groove in 'System Encounter'. This is a no-doubter sure to get everyone to the dancefloor for a good time. Pure Finesse! Turn over to the 2nd side to begin with an example of a prime dark builder. 'Equinox' is suspenseful and dangerous. It's all the things we think are missing in this day and age of club techno. To close thing's out, Armin Bender supplies us with the most dub techno track groove on here with '494'. This has all the marks of a classic Deepchord track from early in their discography. Pure Bliss! As per the grad_u himself our label head, this comes with all the top-notch quality in a physical release. With the latest release on Thule Records the audience is reacquainted with Waage, an Icelandic producer who is already became a force to reckon with within the dub techno community. Along him is a new and fresh tallend name: Quantal – a name to be remember in the near future.
The tracks, comfortably named WM1 to WM4, are repetitive and groovy – a mantra for the braindancers and useful tool for the late-night DJs. WM1 challenges the listeners with its high pitch perc, yet manages to maintain an interesting groove throughout. WM2 is an wide and airy dub techno extravaganza. It slowly drags the listener in like a fisherman with a 10 pound trout. Reels you in slowly and efficiently – and before you know it, you’re being held tightly in the bosom of Waage and Quantal.
The flipside begins with WM3 – steady dub techno beat with atmospheric pads. The chords slowly crawl in, and layers gradually appear from the deep. Finally WM4 brings it home with a heavy-hitting kick, enigmatic chord structures and synchronized breath of an unfamiliar humanoid. Overall, the release is dark and meditative. It works for both the dancefloor and the mind.

Primary welcomes Tm Shuffle (Vuo Records)from Finland to the series with this excellent stripped dub tech and tech mix.

Tm Shuffle comes from the forests of middle-Finland. His passion for music started in early 90's and his record collection and musical vision has grown since those times. His sound; deep, dubby, energetic techno that feels like house or house that feels like techno (but heavens no tech-house) is a sum of all those felt bassdrum kicks, which have been plenty. He is also ½ of Shuffless but that is a different story.
Majority of the time he has stayed in the shadows, far from the spotlights. Partly that has been by choice, partly as a consequence of a few longer breaks from music. But now, his own label Vuo records, active music production and his long-marinated vision of music are ready to bring him more to the stage. But not in the spotlights since they are always turned off on gigs. The music itself is in the center.
