The 144th Mood Series from Greyscale brings a fresh collaboration between two new names to the label: Naarky from the UK and Batchmox from Canada. Together, they deliver Wavefront Holograph, a four-track EP that elegantly balances experimental rhythm structures with serene, melodic atmospheres. Opening track 'Q Love Actions' has a slow reveal. The cavernous chords drift into view like dim lights in a fog. A delicate, galloping rhythm that is a hybrid of water percussion and dub techno pulse. It’s peaceful and organic, like hearing waves crash in the distance while submerged just below the surface. 'Lumibomb' is more cerebral, using broken, almost hesitant percussion that slips in and out of rhythm. The hovering melody feels like stray data signals carried across long distances. With 'Holographic Choirs', Naarky and Batchmox lean into the cinematic. Ethereal tones hint at something fantastical and somewhere between angelic and otherworldly. It feels like a brief escape into a fantasy world. Closing track 'Unregistered' shifts with a more ominous pulse, layering tension that never quite resolves. As the beat develops more clarity in its final minute, its a natural intro perfect for DJs to mix out of. Wavefront Holograph pays careful attention to mood and space while marking a distinctive and thoughtful debut for both artists.

“As soon as the instructions have arrived, we will open the portal.”
“Uploading the memory… and done!”

Everything was going according to plan. Two figures in matte suits stood by the station where a smart bracelet was secured. Its flickering indicator showed that the synchronisation and data reading were in progress. The lines from the Protocol lit up on the holographic panel, along with Spacelunch’s face and the message: “Cloning completed successfully. Compatibility confirmed. Double awaiting command.” The professor’s copy looked more convincing than the original. The only thing left was to activate the teleport via a special procedure and send the double to Chinatown, for which the coordinates were preloaded.

For millennia, the best minds of the Aerospace Corporation had built their reputation on cutting-edge tech. But at what cost? The Cybernetics Department had long mastered the art of acquiring — by any means necessary — external breakthroughs and weaving them into their own algorithms. This wasn’t just about innovation anymore. It was a confrontation. And its final result would be a delicacy for any of the Minimal Antagonist’s protégés.
