Leading the release, the title track ‘Repertoire’ features Beartrax's signature violin melodies along with haunted, atmospheric synths. Fresh off the back of multiple releases on Frank Music, Iron Curtis delivers a chunky, electro-tinged remix which provides a fresh interpretation of the original.

On the flip, ‘Metro Vice’ combines interplaying synths with sizzling percussion and hard-hitting drums to kick off the B-side. Rounding out the release is Berlin-based DJ/producer ROTCIV’s remix, which sees the versatile producer transform the original into a pumping cosmic trip.

Since its inception in 2019, Beartrax’s Melodize imprint has consistently pushed deep, musical house, techno and electro. With contributions from John Tejada, Fort Romeau, Carl Finlow, Lauer, and many more standing alongside Beartrax’s original, violin-led productions, the label’s back catalogue has picked up support from DJs such as Jennifer Cardini, Laurent Garnier, and Roman Flugel.

Beartrax ‘Repertoire EP’ drops on vinyl via Melodize on 10th February, with the digital release arriving on 3rd March 2023.

PJ Harvey - This Is Love (Zaratustra Renaissance Edit)

Delicate Features is the moniker of composer Pavel Diakov and vocalist Radmila Nikogosian, a duo who have recently fled their native St Petersburg. Since making their debut in 2012, they have released music on this label as well as Cellar Tapes and Not Not Fun Records, exploring immersive soundscapes that invite listeners deep into their world. The events of the last year have led to the pair fleeing their homeland in search of a place that better represents their ideals and can provide the artist freedom they require. "The idea for this EP came to us during our escape from Russia," says the pair. "The last few years in Russia have been difficult. The government's pressure on freedom was felt more strongly so when the war was launched we urgently left Russia and went to Yerevan in Armenia since we could no longer stay in the aggressor country. The EP is a response to these terrible events that began in 2022 and are continuing to this day. It is an attempt to immediately reconsider what we have and make a change toward a peaceful future." The opener' Formula of Faith' is a cosmically minded cut with beautiful melodic patterns unfolding over warm, rubbery house beats. It's wistful but dynamic while 'Economic Outlook' is a dreamy and deep cut of synth-laden dub. Pads are smeared across a starry sky with all the soul of Detroit while the plump drums and buried bass add weight below. The fantastic 'Get Ready' is a quick and physical house track with razor-sharp hi-hats and more majestic pads. The fulsome groove is detailed with meaningful chords that turn thoughts inwards as the drums power on. The excellence continues on 'Melting Dream' which is cosy backroom music with emotional depth and persuasive drums. The myriad synth wisps and floating chords make it a heady affair that pairs romance with ruefulness. Last of all is the humid atmosphere and cavernous dub chamber of 'Speed Of An Immobility' which sounds both futuristic and timeless. It's a world of subtle pads and booming bass that has real energy and tension. This is stylish and well-crafted music that truly brings something fresh to the dance floor.

Operating from sundered soils - Eftersom is a triangle formed between Ravage Sentimental, close collaborator Jérôme Darmois and Chris Vela aka Moderne Romance. The term 'Eftersom' is used as a nod to their cross-border bond; a bond galvanized by a simple love of music, unwavering creative drive and a fair collection of imperfect studio gear.

With their LP LIE lined up for the later half of 2023 - here the trio present Tourne Tourne; a precursor to the project which comes coloured with remixes from Tel-Aviv-based Niv Ast, Mufti, Radial Gaze and Ravage Sentimental herself.

The original kick things off with a purposeful March. Bold, discordant shards are set above a burning guitar riff and a sultry vocal line which build up a bright, effective Indie recording. Niv Ast then sharpens the energy and rolls it up into an electro-tinged club track. Mexico's Mufti then suffuses the single with some 80s synthesis before Radical Gaze offers up 2 unique takes. Their 'Pop' remix lays pellucid twinkles over tight, sharp rhythms while their Indie remix then set climbing tones over steady and persistent drums across a forceful club tool.

Ravage Sentimental then makes use of the raw, organic elements while allowing her vocals to shine before the warped, hallucinogenic tones of 'Precious' brings things to a close. Thick synthesis, brash drum work and more ghostly vocals evince the sonic symbiosis of the trio while offering an exciting insight into what’s to come.

Norwegian space enthusiast and mysterious artist Frifot delivers an EP of classic freaky house on the inimitable Badabing Diskos.

Norwegian producer Frifot is a nomadic soul who has a long history of producing under various pseudonyms. His music is often energetic but calm, dark but with rays of light and full of lush melodies and an exploratory vibe that takes you through outer space. This new secret project is another invitation from him to close your eyes and dream.

First up is the techno-leaning disco of 'Rouge Planet', a steamy dance floor workout with prying bass loops and sonar pulses. It's a busy arrangement that never lets up the pressure and brings an all-new kind of intensity to space music. 'Crystal Crayons' layers up exquisitely designed chords with swirling pads and sci-fi motifs. The quickened house groove is minimal but effective as it powers this mind-opening cosmic trip and the soft arps bubble away to infinity. The brilliant 'Marshmellow Clouds' is an epic eight-minute closer that builds intensity through gurgling bass and loopy drums. Squelchy alien life forms and smeared melodic lines detail the ever-evolving groove and leave you with your eyes glazed and lost in the moment.

Frifot's Rouge Planet EP is a sublime fusion of sounds that make both a cerebral and physical impact.

In the realm of extraordinary lives, there existed a person named Elysia. Blessed with an inexplicable longevity, Elysia defied the boundaries of time, living for nine centuries. Yet as the years marched on, an insidious anxiety crept into their soul. Witnessing the cyclical nature of existence, the rise and fall of civilizations, and the inevitability of loss weighed heavily on Elysia's heart. The burden of accumulated memories grew overwhelming, eclipsing the joy of longevity. With each passing day, Elysia longed for the simplicity of mortal existence, where moments were fleeting but cherished. Their extraordinary longevity proved to be a paradox, a testament that even immortality cannot shield one from the ravages of anxiety.

Maps (aka James Chapman) has worked his magic on ‘Methuselah’, the latest single from the Liverpool trio Seagoth. Chapman, who records for legendary imprint Mute, has delivered a stunning and emotional remix of the original New Age-inflected indie-rock track. Layers of euphoric synths are set alongside epic drums, while snatches of Georgia Ochoa's powerful vocal sing out as the track builds and builds into a resolutely optimistic and melancholic electronic symphony that fans of Maps will know and love.

"I am a big fan of Seagoth so I was delighted to be asked to remix 'Methuselah',” says James. “It is a beautifully melodic and mysterious track, and I was instantly drawn to how the original song felt like a constant 'push', until the uplifting resolution in the outro. I took this as inspiration for where I went with my remix. I wanted to keep this sense of a journey, which then resolves into a huge and uplifting feeling of joy. Georgia's vocals are so deeply emotional and enigmatic, and they really are the heart of the remix. I really enjoyed working on this!"
