Wrapped In His Mantle

"And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.  And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him" Revelation 12:7-9.

Infinity War

This message is from Acts 9:1-12 that describes Saul of Tarsus conversion.  In this message Pastor Johnson focuses on verse 11 that refers to God NOW taking notices of Saul's prayers despite him praying 3x a day as a Jewish scribe.

Behold, He Prayeth

This morning's message preaced by Bishop Johnson focused on Moses. Moses was an imperfect man. He was a murderer and lacked self-confidence after leaving Egypt. His past distorted his view of himself which affected his image of God. He believed that God couldn't use him because of his past and the flaws he had. This is what makes God great! He will use any willing vessel. It doesn't matter our past sins, present sins, where we come from or who we are related to. We must see ourselves as God sees us. We are His most important possession that received the crown of glory. He died for us, so we are left without excuse for not fulfilling our purpose and coming to him for help. Like the Temple last week, it had problems, but God still filled it with His Spirit for a purpose. Remember that we were created in the image of God. So we cannot tell God that we are not good enough or smart enough. When we do this, we call God a liar. When we do this, we are saying that His sacrifice was not good enough. Like Moses, we may have times when we feel this way, but we must rely on our faith to propel us forward without paying attention to how we feel to fulfill God's purpose.

Here am I Lord

"And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God" - Rom 12-2. So often, we hear this verse but now we must say, "And be not absorbed into this world". Bishop Johnson teaches from Exodus chapter 3 where Moses is chosen to deliver the people of Israel from Egypt and to bring them into the land flowing with milk & honey. This land, however, is already occupied by peoples who worship other gods. In this message Bishop Johnson illustrates the Biblical principles of being dinstinct, seperate, and holy so one is not absorbed into the community of unbelievers to make one ineffective in the kingdom.

Absorption

Come out of your tomb and come to the cross! In this message Bishop Johnson continues with Moses's investigation of the burning bush. His curiosity drove him to a bush where he is introduced to God Almighty. After Moses miraculous introduction it will take God 40 years for to convince Moses to come out his own personal tombs of doubt, self pity, and condemnation to pick up his staff.  The patience of our Savior is everlasting. While we may give up on ourselves, He does not give up on us. Often, Jesus believes in us more than we believe in ourselves, by doing this we limit God's immeasurable grace for ourlives.  God does not pick perfect vessels, he chooses willing vessels that rely on him for all things.

Absorption II

The preaching of God's Word is not about church growth, it is about personal growth. In this text from Exodus we are introduced to Moses who settled into the routines of life that was miraculous detoured by a burning bush. Yet, it was not the fire that gained Moses' attention. It was that the bush was not consumed. Our God is a consuming fire that has chosen us, corruptible beings that are born of this world like the bush to house the Holy Ghost so as to be the light on somone elses routine path.

Holy Ground

Promised Land Pentecostal Church was established by two United States Marines who found themselves serving together in An Nasiriyah, Iraq during “Operation Iraqi Freedom” in 2003. The Lord breathed life into an unlikely friendship for the purpose of spreading the Word of God. Here in a war-torn country a Bible fellowship was formed serving the Marines of an infantry company three times a week.  On the date of our country's independence, July 4th, 18 Marines were baptized in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ in the Euphrates River. 

The deployment in Iraq came to an end, and both men returned to their homes being separated by location, but not by spirit. Three years later they became burdened by the Lord to continue the work which began in Iraq and to establish a church that would serve both those in and out of uniform.

We are a multi-cultural, family focused congregation holding to the belief that God desires all people, married or single, to come together in one accord to a place of worship.  Our worship includes the preaching and teaching of the Gospel of Jesus Christ concerning His Death, Burial, and Resurrection so as to enlighten the conscience to the Holiness of God, to feed the mind with the Truth of God, and to open the heart to receive the infinite Grace of God.  In our service to Christ, we are to call sinners to repentance, lift the fallen, visit the sick, mend the broken hearted, and urge all believers to seek a Spirit filled life.  It is essential that the church encourages, nourishes, cultivates, and equips the believer to live a fulfilled life in Jesus Christ in order to effectuate the purpose for which Promised Land Pentecostal Church was founded.
