Originally released in 2012, and remastered for re-release, Against All Odds is the debut album of Detroit hip-hop artist Nique Love Rhodes. It is a thematic album of positive affirmations and perspectives created by Nique not only for herself, but for others to use as a soundtrack to overcoming life’s challenges.  The album not only serves as the artist’s introduction to the world, but it is a constant reminder to the artist of her vision and mission in life. Nique infuses her songs with messages of hope, unity, spirituality, and calls to action for social change as seen in her breakout songs such as “Love Heals All” and “Rise Up,” which was recently licensed for use by the NFL Network and the Detroit Lions.

Inspired by bands such as N.E.R.D, The Roots, and Bob Marley & the Wailers, The NLR Experience uses music as a tool to inspire people, address social issues, and keep bodies rocking. Founded in 2013 after meeting at various Detroit open mics, Nique Love Rhodes (emcee), Carlton White (drums), Sheridan McCarver (drums), Rod Gaston (bass), Trey Priest (guitar), and Barry Chambliss (piano/keyboard) created The NLR Experience - the sonic fusion of hip-hop music with jazz and rock to provide social commentary, spread Detroit love to all, and stir up the revolutionary within the soul of everyone who listens. The band has performed at many major festivals and headlined venues including the North by Northeast Music Festival (Toronto), African World Fest (Detroit), the Nuyorican Poets Café (New York City), and the South by Southwest Music Festival (Texas), and most recently released their debut album The NLR Experience.
