a message from june 2024 - let's get sappy. hi, if you're reading this then Thank you for being here. i wrote this song a day after releasing my 'sophomore' album PEPPER & it shares many similiarites to the last few songs from that album. this song lives on to be one of my favorite songs ive ever written, and the lyrics were stuck in my head for a good chunk of 2021 & 2022. didn't think it'd ever see the light of day, but i settled on this version of the song after 4-5 completely different demos. the instrumentals gradually became more abstract with each demo. there's no tempo when the lyrics kick in / no metronome or grid or anything like that. it's kinda directionless - which also plays into the meaning of the lyrics. it's very much a 'ok what the fuck happens now?' kinda thing. i don't know why im saying this. it's nothing too deep. it's about the mundane reality of life after a breakup. and its nice to look back and realize that We overcame that. the 'what the fuck happens now?' thing has resolved itself a long time ago (for the most part). and i hope this song helps you too.
