It's the first of several new releases from Redinho - an Englishborn, one time Californian living, multi talented badman. We hope you are as excited as we are about it.

Built of sterner stuff than you might expect, Redinho’s musical palette morphs and fractures with every new production. Born and raised on funk, Redinho is as much a product of the 80s as he is the current dance music climate. He makes music with unabashed passion, whether he’s micro organising his shuffling hi hats or zoning out on his talkbox.

Attention please, we’d like to shine a light on the man whose records would come to define many a Numbers party, who once described his music as "for the strippers, for the street”. The original master of Ghetto House, the one and only DJ Deeon.

Hailing from the Southside of Chicago, Deeon started out selling mixtapes in his local neighbourhood and playing at sweatbox house parties. Soon he’d graduate from DJ’ing to production, creating gritty XXX club tracks purely for the moment and the party. The music came from the classic drum machines that provided the spark for Chicago House and Detroit Techno whilst the lyrics and call & response chants were inspired by the parties he frequented.

These tracks - originally released from 1994 onwards via the seminal Dance Mania label, and now remastered from the original DAT tapes for re-release on Numbers - would go on to forge the Ghetto House sound alongside fellow DJ’s: Funk, Jammin' Gerald, Slugo, Paul Johnson & Houz’Mon. What made Deeon’s tracks special was that when he told you to shake it, that’s exactly what you did. 

Deeon continues to produce and DJ to this day. We fulfilled a longstanding ambition by having him play at one of our 10th Anniversary Parties in New York in 2013, and whilst he’s still doing records for Dance Mania we at Numbers wanted to highlight some of the tracks that we love the most. So with the full blessing of Deeon himself, we have compiled our version of a DJ Deeon greatest hits EP.

This record is dedicated to the legacy of DJ Deeon, a man whose music born in Chicago went on to inform many an underground dance scene around the globe, from Glasgow to Rio to South Africa and back. We urge you all to continue buying Deeon's records, to see him DJ wherever possible and to carry on shaking dat ass to the classics.

GDM (Glaswegian Dance Music) pioneer - Sparky (aka Dave Clark) is back on Numbers. 

'Signals' is an all-new track, first heard on Dave’s Essential Mix for BBC Radio 1 (aired as part of Jackmaster's Made In Glasgow), and now in the sets of Ben UFO and JD Twitch. 'Signals' is classic Sparky, nailing that sweet spot between the proto-techno sounds of British synth pop and the dancefloor nous of the Motor City.

For our final record of the year, we turn to Glasgow's man of the year - Denis Sulta.

Like a good chunk of the Numbers family, he has earnt his stripes working at the coalface of techno aka Rubadub. He has crafted two excellent twelves for our bare-chested cousins at Dixon Avenue Basement Jams and is beginning to carve himself out a reputation as a DJ of some repute, expertly blending in the bangers with Sulta-certified weirdness. Denis is part of a new wave of Glaswegian artists who are doing amazing things and whose music is continuously exciting us.

‘It’s Only Real’ created by Sulta during a burst of inspiration one Sunday, takes us back to a time when techno was intricately melodic but still kicked hard in the club. Made with only the purest of intentions and a dedication to the art of moving heads and feet.

"Here's the long promised recording of my set from the Numbers LDN warehouse party back in December of last year.

There were a few Serato technicals to start with, hence the reason for the first few tracks being played without any attempt to blend them, and because it was December, I played some of biggest tunes of the year as a kind of retrospective of one of the best years of UK music in history (IMO). I also put a few of the tracks that I rinsed heavily in my sets throughout 2011, plus the usual selection of surprises. For the same reason, there's also a few blends from my Fabric CD and the RA mix.

We need to say a really big thanks to Black Atlantic and Red Bull, but most of all the troops who stayed till half past 6 in the morning singing along to all the tracks and dancing on top of their mates shoulders. You guys made one of the best parties we've ever been involved in so thanks very much."

Originally hailing from Scotland, now based in Copenhagen, Numbers present 23-year old producer and deejay Perko with his debut release NV Auto.

The seven tracks on this EP hear Perko mining the grooves between his favourite genres for building blocks of inspiration. Drawing from UK soundsystem culture and modern experimental music, half of the record explores deeper atmospheric passages and meditative repetition, characterised by layers of subtly shifting chords, field recordings and delicate polyrhythms.

Three dancefloor cuts, spread throughout the rest of the record, retain this detail and interplay with added energy. Perko’s sense of rhythm & space is clear with 'Rounded’s glacial synths, blown out drum machines and sculpted sub sine waves - it’s streaming in full now. 'What Otters' forges playful UKG touches within a paperclip framework of space-echoes and sparks, whilst 'Songbirds' flips into 4/4 drive with percolated alarms and shimmering pads.

“Density, Noise, Dust, Distortion, Space…” says Perko, if you want it simple.
