"Ever evolving" is a playlist of tracks I am working on, or simply just share like this. I just want to share what I make as quickly as possible and I don't care if it's not finished because I can just replace the file with a newer version. In this way I am also more inspired to work on the track, since it's alreay "out there". :) enjoy

"The set is all playful, dubby, tecky, with some psy vibes and also a bit of deep and introspective bits. I played on a hot, sweaty afternoon during day 2—just as the sun was starting to cool down and the music heads that made up this special crowd were starting to get in all their feels. LOIF took over after me with his live set, carrying us into the darker hours of the night with his sexy psy vibes. It was such a magical moment, and I’m so glad to have it captured in this recording!"

A restless ride through some of my favorite genres.
Started with DnB, dipped into Dubstep and Breaks, wove in some Darkprog, and landed with Minimal and Techno. Hope you enjoy the trip!

The second Vortex Crafty Music Celebration took place September 27–29, 2024, at Toca / Alcacova Bar in Montemor-o-Velho. A 48-hour non-stop music program, crispy vibes, and plenty of crafty surprises. The program unfolded across four areas of the venue:

EMC stands for Electronic Music Culture. A podcast series, music network, and collective of DJs. EMC explores ambient, experimental, deep, dub techno, etc and with Shapes series they focus on more dancefloor oriented stories. To showcase the full spectrum of their musical interests they have made an extended show this month. A deep incursion by Synthbiont & Anassimandrus consisting only of their own productions followed by a colourful cascade of house, prog and tech house numbers spun by Vinylkite.

VF Mix 174: Sven-Åke Johansson by Phuong-Dan

DJ and music programmer Phuong-Dan is a passionate “anything-goes” selector. This eclectic open-mindedness can be heard in his sets – fuelled by his Pudel Club residency that spans nearly 20 years alongside international gigs, as well as his project specific audio works and programming. His passion for digging and collecting is ignited by a voracious curiosity, and genreless approach, something that is apparent when you see him play live.

For his VF Mix, Phuong-Dan explores the oeuvre of Swedish composer, multi-instrumentalist and artist Sven-Åke Johansson. For the uninitiated: Johansson is an unsung pioneer of free jazz and the fluxus movement, who never lets boundaries get in the way of his creativity – as likely to play boxes using a stringed bow as he is to wail out improvisational drum compositions.
