MAL HOMBRE - THERE'S SOMETHING NEAR THE SUN

It’s with great pleasure we release this vinyl only mix of techno and electro selections from the Greater Manchester based artist Luke Daniels.

Luke properly cut his teeth into the scene whilst he was working at the infamous Eastern Bloc record shop, where he regularly still plays today.

Since then he has landed himself a residency for Blasha & Allatt’s queer night - Frixxxion. Where he will be playing the mighty White Hotel alongside artists such as Grace Dahl and Hyperaktivist.

Luke’s no stranger to the club having also played venues such as Stage and Radio, The DBA and Hidden!

He also strives to give back to the community with his co-founded night Hyper Violet aiming to showcase up and coming artists from the north.

A true Dj and true member of the underground scene in Manchester.

Mario Manara also known as MNR is an Italian DJ based in Berlin. He first got interested in electronic music in 2015, when he started actively being part of the electronic music scene in Catania. In 2018 Mario decided to make a move towards Berlin and put his DJ plans forward. Since then, he has been learning and developing his taste and DJ style and artist identity beyond what was imaginable in Italy. In 2019, he joined the Sehnsucht Kollektiv as a resident in Milan also, and active part in the collective team. Through a great passion for records, MNR takes us in a smooth hypnotic journey with a driving groove throughout and a sense of nostalgia for the past.

My next guest on Yax Invites is Liam ‘DUTS’ Dutton; a DJ and promoter from North West, England.

Having had a keen interest in electronic music from an early age from Drum & Bass, to House and 90's/00's Trance, discovered Techno in 2017 from attending local parties and festivals. Being massively inspired by the rawness, hypnosis-inducing and powerful nature of the genre, he felt a sense of expressing his passion for the music. Here he endeavoured on the journey of DJing.

He has since been invited to play at events in Manchester and more recently further afield in Poland by Vague Collective - a Manchester Techno collective, and is co-founder of a new, soon-to-be announced, Manchester-based party which has its debut 12-hour day party this August.

In this showcase mix expect a slight shift in styles over time, as he takes the listener on a journey of hypnotic rhythms, accompanied by a consistent deep and driving presence that is as satisfying for listening, as it is for dancing.

@Benales has been honing his craft since the end of the 90s. 

As an avid record collector, vinyl only DJ and enthusiast of Techno and House – his DJ sets and tracks combine the raw, dark and deep elements of these musical forms with a firm nod in the direction of Detroit. 

His talent allows him to put himself in many clubs in Europe like Tresor, Rex Club, Le sucre, The Gate (Georgia) but also as a regular guest of Concrete when it’s not rare to find Benales surrounded by guest of solid reputation like DVS1, Zadig, Surgeon, Steve Bicknell, Dj Pete, James Ruskin. 

Fascinated by Techno and coldness of electronic music, he released some EP’s and remixes on Sino (Technasia's label), and notably “Elements part 1 & part 2” have marked his spot in the international scene. 

Over the years, he had several releases on outstanding labels like Suburban Avenue, Analog Solutions, Knotweed, @diffusereality, @keyvinyl, and many more to follow.
