I felt inlove with hip hop at an early probably around 11years when I 1st had Dr. Dre's 2001. It was until high school that I became a prominent hip hop collector mostly of the underground, always digging for the rare stuff. I became interested into making beats when I became exposed to the Jazz rap scene of Pete Rock, Guru's Jazzmatazz series, Large Pro etc back in 2006. I had already felt in love with Jazz thru my pops who was a real jazz head, the Bebop era (John Coltrane, Don Cherry, Thelonious Monk etc). So with these guys fusing hip hop with jazz elements that really fascinated me and I was more than keen to create my own beats but I couldnt. It was until 2008 when I 1st bought my PC that i started experimenting with Fruity Loops 8. In 2009 I started to work with these cats I attend school with that were really nice with their style of vernac rapping that I gave them a listen to the stuff am busy making in my room. They dug it and we started working on a few loose singles until in 2010 that a full project was decided upon. We started recording the solo project of Ma-Ero Pistolero titled 'Industry Shutdown' entirely produced by me. The album was done in the summer of 2011. In 2012 I hooked up with a like minded fellow (Quest/Sugar Coated) whom I went to high school with with the rest of the Dillaw Squad crew. Sugar Coated introduced me into the art of sampling, my beats back with the Dillaw crew were less sampled cause I never knew Fruity Loops could chop a song like these cats i Iisten to on my speakers does till I met up with Quest and we started working on a Jazz Rap crew, two crews to be intact one a Producer only duo (Simple Effect) and the other an MC duo (The Dukes). As The Dukes we recorded 'Street Therapy' entirely produced by me and a follow up double album of Ma-Ero Pistolero to 'Industry Shutdown' that I both produced with Sugar Coated under the Simple Effect banner. As Simple Effect we have recorded an all instrument album titled 'Crack The Pine, Open' that we released digital in 2016, accompanied by my own instrumental album titled 'Knuckle Head Funkin'. In 2017 I started working out with Eavesdrop from Cape Town, hookin her up with beats that eventually made it to her 2018 EP titled 'Scrolls Of The Unseen', produced four of the 7joints. Currently I am working on my new instrumental album that will be titled 'Soul Voyage', I got some production on Sir Swank Sinatra's up coming EP under the Simple Effect banner. Been a DJ for Vinnie Mak & B'Ocean's Z.E.K album launch, on the Mind Construction Movement shows.

My style of beats is mostly inspired by the 90s boom bap sounds, filtered basslines and soul/jazz samples, over murky eerie sounding drums. I mostly use Fruity Loops 10 sampling from the Fruity Slicer plugin and my USB connected turntable for loading my LPs, sometimes I mess around with the Roland SP-505 that am still new at it.
