There's no need to spend many words introducing K-Paul, who has been around for decades as part of Lexy & K-Paul or solo and on labels such as Low Spirit, Four Music, BAR25, Katermukke and his own Musicismusic. Precisely because things don't seem to be quite as loud and whirlwind around him anymore, we are all the more delighted about this new EP on Broque. Created some time ago in a small fishing village on La Palma, No You has matured like a fine wine that is finally ready to be enjoyed in its full flavor. Carried by Tua's vocals, a melancholic mood and a wonderfully warm and deep production, this little gem manages to exude relaxed Balearic (or rather Canarian) vibes and main floor-compatible hit potential at the same time. Gabriel Ananda's slightly more percussive remix hits you with an even more functional approach to the theme, while Georg Neufeld's Lido Dub takes its time over more than 11 minutes and finds its peaktime appeal through the back door with a lot of dubby deepness. db-Maui puts the icing on the cake by transforming No You into a wonderfully atmospheric and timeless dancefloor track with eclectic warm chords, twinkling acid lines and lots of atmosphere, which makes you want to dance into the Canarian sunrise.
