very close to making the cut to the album, but it dragged. I love this chorus, and the verses are meaningful to me. the story about my dad calling me when I had snuck out of the house is real. I picked up the phone and he said "use the door next time" and hung up. I had snuck out the window to go smoke week and vibe with my friends.

One night I heard this piano/drum loop on @_inzerra_ 's IG story. I called him telling him to send me the beat immediately because I had already written half the verse in my head and needed to record. I sent him the finished vocals that night (the same vocals on this track today), and eventually produced a full beat around the piano/drum loop. AND ITS A BOP 🥳

When I Get High was made when Inzerra sent me this nasty beat, and I locked in and wrote one of my best raps over it and sent it back. Originally only physically released on the collab CD, Please Give Me Your Money. One of my favorite beats I've ever had the opportunity to rap over.

This track was recorded years ago, but the album it was on never came out. I wrote it while struggling with doing anything at all. My dad, my best friend, had died in his 60s, and I was in my early 20s. I had a call recorded with him that I was listening to searching for some sort of comfort, and he was talking about how he was getting ready to play a show, but was anxious because he hadn't done anything in so long because of his cancer treatments. And I used his drive to do something back then, to fuel me to write this song and get my own life moving again. It's what he would've wanted.
