За основу цієї пісні взято вірш Михайля Семенка — поета доби Розстріляного відродження, основоположника українського футуризму.
Митця в 1937 році у Києві розстріляв НКВС. Семенку було лише 44 роки.

Точна кількість репресованих і вбитих українських інтелігентів згадуваної доби невідома досі. За деякими даними, це число сягає 30 000 осіб.

За основу цієї пісні взято вірш Володимира Сосюри. 
Вірш був написаний в 1940 році і очевидно був присвячений дружині Марії Сосюрі, яка була завербована НКВД та стежила за чоловіком та його літературним оточенням. Згодом була заслана в концтабори. Після повернення із заслання Сосюри одружилися вдруге.

The world of unexpected, intimate and new music.
Ethnos + chaos = the combination of two fundamental substances, create the world of music in a variety of native melodies, rythmos.
The name is original, outstanding and authentic at the same time.
DakhaBrakha means "give/take" in the old Ukrainian language.

DakhaBrakha was created in 2004 at the Kyiv Center of Contemporary Art "DAKH" by the avant-garde theatre director -- Vladyslav Troitskiy. Theatre work has left its mark on the band performances -- their shows have never been staged without the scenic effects.
Having experimented with Ukrainian folk music, the band has added rhythms of the surrounding world into their music, thus creating bright, unique and unforgettable image of DakhaBrakha.
