Tyrannosaurus Dead announce split single with Joanna Gruesome, unveil brand new track 'Post Holiday Dead Song'

Brighton scuzzy indie pop fivesome will release the Rory Attwell-produced song on a split 7" with the Cardiff punks through London DIY label Odd Box Records on 21 July.

The south coast five-some's charming new song is set to join Joanna Gruesome's 'Anti Parent Cowboy Killers' (taken from last year's excellent 'Weird Sister' album) on a split 7" - set for release through London DIY label Odd Box on 21 July.

The brand new track from the band (Billy Lowe - Guitar & Vocals, Eleanor Rudge - Vocals, Thomas Northam - Bass, Martin Edwards - Guitar, and Rupert Willows - Drums) hears them continue to hone their fuzzy indie pop sound - packed full of excellent guitar hooks and a charming chorus.

The split follows a handful of EPs and singles from an increasingly impressive band with an ever-growing back catalogue of fuzzy, scuzzy, catchy indie pop.

2014 looks set to be a big year for the band with new, big news forthcoming.

Buses, politicians, friends, weather....in day to day life there's so many things you just can't rely on. Thomas Crang however (and more specifically his output as Gorgeous Bully) has always been something you can count on. From his early beginnings down in Cornwall, through to his Plymouth bedroom pop output and now his full band Manchester outfit - his prolific discography doesn't include a single duff hit.

With no further ado, we'd like to introduce you to this week's Pizza Club single Dissolve. 

Whereas Gorgeous Bully's most recent EP (released by us back in February) saw Gorgeous Bully's first full outing as a four piece. Dissolve sees GB returning to his bedroom-pop roots and the beautiful mire of fuzz we have come to associate him with. Lyrics seem to hang in the air for brief seconds before fading away like breath on a cold day. I actually think this is one of my favourite Gorgeous Bully songs, so if you haven't listened before this should be a great introduction.

Danish four-piece Communions have announced details of their new single. So Long Sun will be released on Tough Love Records on November 10th.

Following their debut EP, Cobblestones, released on Posh Isolation at the start of the year, So Long Sun is available on limited 7” and download, and is backed by another new track, Love Stands Still.

Communions are a new young quartet from Copenhagen who came together at Mayhem, the same four-wall rehearsal space as contemporaries Iceage and Lower, and it's from this same studio/venue complex that most of Copenhagen’s new punk, industrial and synth scene originates.

Though Communions share a flame with the current Copenhagen wave, the torch is certainly their own. The band, made up of brothers Martin and Mads Rehof, Jacob van Deurs Formann and Frederik Lind Köppen, recorded the debut Cobblestones EP in Frederik’s bedroom, where the guitars scream like torn throats and the songs beat in rhythm of young hearts pouring over with passion. On this new single, the band went into a real home studio for the first time, using many of the same techniques from the home recordings but resulting in songs sounding like they were intended when forming the band.
