This mixtape is focused on speed garage with a few exceptions; a dubby/steppers introtune, a sexy garage remix from that same era, an updated version of the speed garage sound from the grime era and to end of a classic house remix, that in my opinion initiated the garage 'swing' that evolved in the mid nineties. Mixed live in one take on three turntables, playing strictly vinyl and working an FX unit on the side.

I usually don't play sets with a straight up 4/4 beat, but this time I wanted to display a rediscovered lost love of mine: the bassheavy styles from around '96-'97. I remember back when these tunes were released, I enjoyed the tracks, but were far too young too experience them on a club system - but today I can see a clear path from these basslines to a lot of the heavy dubstep being crafted today. I still remember listening to Armand Van Helden playing at Hyperstate in Copenhagen '97, which were being broadcasted on the national Danish radio in the middle of the night back then - it really raised my interest in dj'ing and clubbing experiences.
