Obriultn is an EP consisting of six tracks that have been composed by as many musicians exclusively using stems from the self-titled record Bolt Ruin out in 2019 on Circuits. Key contemporary artists such as Obsequies, Fausto Mercier, Julek Ploski, Siavash Amini, and Piano Princess aka bod [包家巷] have been called out to put together original compositions starting from the same sound material employed by @boltruin in recording his last-year staggering outing, a fierce exercise in abstract electronics and sound design.

Today, we’re happy to share with you the track premiere of Piano Princess‘ Enginsess piece: their contribution to the release was reportedly built by ripping, editing, and looping the original stems in a true “bootleg style”: the result is a melancholic, clicky serenade of piano, resonating straight out of the basement of one’s self-loathing and culminating into abrupt nothingness.

In the era where virtual artifacts can create realities, media is not merely mediating realties anymore, but creating them itself. Entering the new decade, we have witnessed many virtual beings creating new realities: for instance, Hatsune Miku, a virtual being, will appear on Coachella 2020, there are projects that use AI to resurrect the dead such as 2pac, and there is a brand new chapter of the Matrix saga on the way. Because of the mass consumption and production of our highly computerized and automated society, imperfections such as the moderate randomness and gaps created by analogs seem ironically fresh. An "Aesthetic of Imperfections”, if you will, that the “Qunatization” compilation aims to express to our quantized society.

On their single release “Burgeons” the French producer Lukann invokes their memories from springtime escapades in nature. The song draws inspiration from breakbeat rhythms which are punctuated by playful glockenspiel melodies.
