Do you invest in crypto? A question Cryptofauna gets asked quite often when she meets fellow club kids at the function. But when it comes to her name, it's more about investigating than investing. The term stems from both biology and mythology and refers to all hidden animal life, mostly those living in the deepest oceans - so deep that many of them aren't even discovered yet.
For weeeirdos, the Berlin-based DJ used the opportunity to record a mix to frame the origin of her moniker. Accompanied by a cryptic text, for those who are open for some „weird ass deep sea poetry", as she puts it.

Gothenburg-born DJ and producer Mohajer brings her galvanizing spirit and sophisticated cuts to the series with a 73-minute release. The Swedish veteran and key member of Fast Forward Productions has cultivated over a decade’s worth of sounds from her Berlin base and provided the soundtrack for her mp3 parties as co-founder and long-running resident, as well as for gatherings across a spate of clubs like RSO, Tresor, Berghain, Fold and Basement. Her productions play with her Persian heritage and a blend of electronic music genres to bring a fresh and uplifting take to market: a sensual and bustling mix of driving techno with a heavy focus on community building and human connection. Her dynamo beats emerge from her deep understanding of a dancefloor’s energy, and render obvious her quick-witted feel for music and people. Her forthcoming EP on Spray’s Punctuality Records twists that palette into something bold and elastic: a confident cascade of mystique, mayhem and sensuality. Bassiani Podcast 271 is charged to the brim with her infectious late-night sounds: trippy techno that loops, shifts and builds in intensity, seductive grooves and immersive frequencies from a well-versed Wahlberliner. The twenty fourth transmission from RYC comes courtesy of not one, but two artists we greatly admire. Joining forces on a split truly like no other, Japanese maestro Wata Igarashi and Munich’s own multi-faceted genius Polygonia step up with the magnetic ‘Cross Passage’ - a four-track journey at the junction of their respective universes, teleporting us straight to a propulsive, mind-expanding headspace as we’re invited to explore sonic territories still uncharted and harmonics yet unravelled.

The collaborative A-side begins with the dynamic title-track, ‘Cross Passage’, a proactively future-facing number packing the kind of utopian drive that used to define the original techno sound. A highly cinematic narrative boasting Detroit-style vision and epic breath, ‘Cross Passage’ builds bridges between hi-tech elation and organic integration, transcending mere functionality to push back and expand the limits of techno as a deep communication vessel between the individual and the mass. Firing off like a binary script gone astray, ‘Fibre Axis’ takes us on a further bumpy ride across shape-shifting interfaces and blurred-out digital scapes, via abrupt pixel landslides and fractured 3D renderings.

Side-B finds each producer dishing out a slice of his/her own musical idiom. Polygonia strikes first with the pulsating ‘Voltage Blues’ - a mesmeric roller cut from pure eerie synth algebra, boundary-pushing abstraction and surgical but experimental-leaning rhythmic assault. The result is a piece of cutting-edge techno hoodoo, ready to take on clubs with utmost abrasive swagger. Sniping a hail of rainbow-like analogue synth outpour, Wata Igarashi’s solo contribution ’The Tunnel Dreams’ rounds off the journey on a fiercely nonconformist note. Merging a hard-hitting main swing with 8-bit-esque audio pointillism and brooding bass undertones, the Japanese producer cuts a path of antigravitational abandon and relentless rush towards absolving euphoria, which shall leave all in the room levitating somewhere between sheer daze and love-thirsty XTC.

Here the fourth episode of EWX — Transition Mix Series, a special 2-hours DJ Set, paying a tribute to the House Music spirit.

The concept behind the mix series is to present personal different musical directions or just music makes me move. It is healing to me to also dig and play different moods, it helps on having an healthy and wide perspective — I want to listen to and to believe in what makes me feel real emotions without strictly labelling them.

I often reflect on how lucky we are to have new great records every day + decades of this music available to us and how precious all of this it is. Lot of gratitude to all the artists and music lovers who continue to create, support, and keep the movement alive. We all part of it!
