Track 1 of Amantes Et Caedis. 

She was sitting there drinking her coffee. It was four years ago today that she was married to the man she always knew she loved. It was a beautiful relationship throughout college and when he finally asked her to marry her she was more than ready. Her heart felt blessed. 

Walks on the beach, hikes in the mountains, they were almost always inseparable. 

She drinks her coffee and waits for her love to come home from work so they can go out to the restaurant where she was proposed to. 

AMANTES ET AMENTES

1. Beatae Memoriae

Track 2 of Amantes Et Caedis.

She sat there going through old photos and old letters. He told her how he loved her and how her touch made him weak. She held the pictures and tracing the outlines of his face. 

She loved their life. She loved their lifestyle of good money and nice things, but she would trade it all for just more time with her love. 

He was gone much of the time on business, but when he returns he is always a passionate one. She longed for his embrace, his touch, and the way he made her feel safe and loved.

It was almost perfect. Her life. She gives thanks and puts the photos down. She tears up yet smiles as she looks up to the ceiling and allows all the wonderful memories to flow over her like a warm gentle breeze. 

2. Tu Miranda

Track 3 of Amantes Et Caedis.

She was cleaning up the kitchen when she got the text message. It was her friend telling her that she needs to call her immediately. Worried she dials and a familiar voice answers. 

Her friend told her that she just saw someone who looked like a familiar face entering into a hotel with an recognizable woman.  Of course the friend was not for certain, but gave her the address of the hotel and apologized profusely. 

She ended her call and sat the phone down. Her chest was tight and she was confused. Of course this was not the man she married. The man that tonight was to share their fourth year of being married.

Of course not. 

This couldn't be.  

3. Inretrospect

Track 4 of Amantes Et Caedis.

She got in her car and started it. Her eyes full of tears and  a wrinkled wedding photo in her hand. She felt lost in her own driveway.

Disbelief and confusion filled her mind as she pulled into the street to travel to the hotel her friend had told her about.

On her way there she passed dozens of places that her and her husband shared moments of joy, As the places blurred by so did each and every moment they shared.

The world seemed alien and she felt like a stranger in her own world.

Eventually she pulled into Montgomery Hotel, and her heart sank as she felt nauseated. Her husbands car is parked in one of the parking stalls.

She enters the main lobby to ask the person at the front desk which room her husband is in. 

The girl at the front desk was apathetic both to her cause and the hotel policies. She had her husbands room number and a key.    

4. Salado Labios

Track 5 of Amantes Et Caedis.

He was nervous and elated. He knew what he was doing was wrong and he didn't care. He loved his wife but be loved the thrill of the hunt even more.

She was sexy and she was easy. He wasn't picky and he was looking for an emotional high.

They drove to the hotel. They didn't speak much except for her giggles and his wondering fingers.  They both knew what they were going to do, and there was no illusions of what will come after for either of them.

They parked in the front of the hotel and like teenagers they hustled out of the car and meeting on the sidewalk they embarrassed and nonchalantly went into the hotel.

The woman at the front desk was far from dense. She knew what they were up to and she immediately noticed he was wearing a wedding ring and the girl was not. 

She sighed in disappointment and begrudgingly attended to getting them a key. She handed it over sadly, limp-wristed and shot a look to the girl that was pleading.

Not much long after a woman entered the hotel lobby and asked about the man. She couldn't look her in the eye as the weight of her own guilt, from her own past rose to the surface. 

She knew she wasn't supposed to. but she gave the woman a key to the same room anyway. She felt that she had to know. That she had to find them together so that she could eventually move on.



5. Intergalactic Love

Track 6 of Amantes Et Caedis.

The hotel room door closed behind them. They were clawing, groping, and tearing articles of clothing off each other like starving animals fighting for a scrap of food.

They kissed hard and they moved to the bed.   

Nothing was restrained, there were no rules and there was no one there to stop them. 

They fell away from themselves and became one, but as different people entirely.

6. FLUNG

Track 7 of Amantes Et Caedis.

She left the hotel lobby and went to his car.  She had a key and she knew what she had to do.

She opened the car door and sat in it. It smelled of leather and light hints of flowery perfume.  Her stomach wretched. 

She opened the glove compartment and found his phone. She knew his pass-code and entered it in. 

Hundreds of texts expanding on the screen. Foul images that she will never forget, and soft ugly words bounced around from here eyes to her mind and etched a permanent spot in her brain. 

She hated him now. She loved him hours ago and now she hated him more than anything in the world. This was the hardest thing she could ever suffer.

Everything in her wonderful life was a lie. A dream made into a nightmare. Given and taken away.

She sat there quietly as the realization of what was happening overwhelmed her. She fought herself to come back but the darkness was growing. It was consuming her.

She reached into the glove compartment and pulled out the little gun that her husband kept in case of car-jackings.

Her mind and actions were not her own anymore..... 


7. Cybersex

Track 8 of Amantes Et Caedis.

She stepped out of the car slowly. She held the little weapon in her firm grip. She couldn't do anything but walk. She tried to turn around but it was as if something else took over and now will only let her watch what was about to unfold. 

She walked into the hotel and up the stair way. She walked slowly down the hallway and came up to the door matching the one on her key card.

She touched the door handle. A flood of memories reemerged and she saw his face in her mind. She tried to will herself to stop but again she was locked out of her own body.

She put the key in and turned the handle quietly.

She walked in and could hear them. She could hear the guttural and organic noises of two people engaged in carnal activities. 

She entered in fully with gun raised. She was invisible as no one on the bed was aware of her in the room. 

The scene was horrifying, The things he was doing disgusted her. 

She pulled the trigger. She pulled it again. She kept pulling it until all that was left was a soft metallic clicking sound. Tears filled her eyes until she was blind by rage.

Click, click.

8. GFLY

Track 9 of Amantes Et Caedis.

She sits down on the side of the bed. Blood soaking the sheets. She is numb and still confused. All she can remember is having coffee after waking up in the morning. 

She is overwhelmed with pain and sadness and she doesn't know why. She wipes her forehead and leaves behind a crimson streak, she glances down and sees blood covering her hands.

Memories of every time he told her loved her filled her mind. Several thousand moments locked in sequence rushing through her head like a sped up movie. She started to laugh.. 

She couldn't stop laughing as the memories kept moving forward.

That's how the police found her. Lying on a bed with her dead husband and his lover laughing.  

9. Brownnoise

Track 10 of Amantes Et Caedis.

The doctor came in to see her.  She was lying in her bed, the leather restraints held her tightly down so she wouldn't move to injure others or herself.  

Oh, he asks her all the same questions. "Why did you do it?" "How did it happen?", but she remains silent except for the occasional laughing spell. Her laughing comes and goes in time and spurts. 

She relives every moment in deep detail over and over. Numb to the pain of life, filled with dark hatred. 

Hatred and numbness to everything but the child that is growing inside of her...

10. KILL ME SLOWLY

Noctrine was originally a music project started in January of 2002 by Christopher Rowe. Noctrine’s First album Amantes Et Caedis (Lovers & Lunatics) released in 2003, was not as much a music album as an audio art piece. It told a story of a person who was happy and normal and falls in love only to have it spiral downwards into evil and atrocity. 

In 2016 Christopher Rowe in association with Audio Drama Guild Productions (ADG Productions) have begun working on an audio drama series about a serial killer with more to hide than just murders…. 

The release date for the series is slated sometime in late 2016 or early 2017.
