"An important part of touring is the connections you make with different people when travelling around the world. And when going to America, a big part of that experience has been connected to the people around Interdimensional Transmissions and The Bunker NY. While we couldn’t be together in person, I was very glad to be part of Samhain XX streaming online. The set was recorded at my home in Tokyo, but I tried to play how I might have played if I was with everyone in Detroit. The Brvtalist is proud to present a new mix from Sharlese. A  longtime DJ and promoter in Seattle, WA, she is known for her knowledge of EBM, various synth and wave genres, post-punk and industrial. She hosts live music shows like False Prophet which features synth and wave acts as well as a monthly dance party called Audiodrome. She is also a resident of techno crews Depth Seattle and CLANG. 

DJing EBM and Techno  for over a decade, Sharlese can be seen in spinning in clubs and can be heard on KEXP 90.3 FM in Seattle where she hosts two radio shows, Mechanical Breakdown, every Monday morning from 1-2am and as a rotating host on Expansions, every third Sunday of the month. We are thrilled to host this killer set which weaves in and out of body, wave, industrial and more and puts her sounds and prowess on full display.

Deep Breakfast 142 - Pareidolia

Closing set at Organik Festival 2019 in Hualien, Taiwan. Last 1,5 hours was a b2b with Diskonnected. 

Picture this: A slow steep drive down through a narrow jungle path, 
the sound of distant ocean waves, frogs, and insects is all you hear until suddenly the jungle opens up and you've arrived at Organik Festival.

Located on a secluded beach on the Taiwan east coast facing the seemingly infinite Pacific with awesome mountain rocks and jungle kneeling to it. A beast of a brand new model Funktion One sound system tuned to perfection and a rare gathering of the most loving and kind people you can imagine. 

This is the spirit of Organik. Nature, quality, peace, and a big coherent mix of dreamy techno, ambient, experimental, house, and disco. Personally have I never experienced a better festival. Was such a pleasure and honour to close the festival on a late Sunday night playing after Dorisburg. I got around different styles and wanted to play a non linear set and instead take people on a journey. I hope you feel some of the festival vibe in the recording.

The last hour and a half my friend and Smoke Machine Taiwan resident joined me in a b2b showing a rare housy side of his palette.

Mix Series 045: Infinite Jess

Based in the Bay Area, @aunteesam of Club Pansy got their start DJing relatively recently. With their storytelling background as a filmmaker/editor and their strong sense for what it means to get lost in the emotions of a dancefloor, it feels like they could have been DJing for years. Viewing music as a universal language, their mixes are jubilant and connective — this is music for smiling at your neighbor through the fog, for uplifting one another, for heading home with a full heart and a changed mind.

"Music to smize to. As a filmmaker/editor by day, I really enjoy storytelling, evoking feeling, and creating a sense of warmth through the art. It’s not a perfect story, but it has a beginning, an arc, and a resolution.

This mix is bright, has some tight hugs of acid, and groovy bass lines to get your feet kickin’. I’m sharing music that combines my love of dancing and feeling sanguine - This mix is full of tunes that please my soul. I recorded this using an XDJ-RX2 and some studio monitors."
