The third LAYER in our Lithuanian December special series comes from a dear friend with one foot in gentle atmospheres, the other in crooked down-tempo, and both arms digging hard for twisted dance. That last side he decided to showcase in his mix for WPD. 

If you know of Opium club's Smala nights through their recordings or staggering posters by Floating Bastard, then you know about Marijus Klimaitis.

The leftfield-loving Lithuanian started collecting music as a kid. Soon after moving to Vilnius, when Electroclash anthems ruled the Earth, Marijus ran the small Stereo 45 club, where he cut his craft and decided to embark on a DJ's journey.

Now, some years later, you know him as one half of 12 INČŲ PO ŽEME, the DJ duo he steers with Simas Slabačiauskas. The two operated the Smala nights in collaboration with another Vilnius nightlife staple, Manfredas. With their remix for Maar Bullet and a self-released mixtape, the duo started showing interest in entering producer waters.

This year, Marijus started sharing his uncanny favorites with audiences across the globe through the Per Amzius Ambient show on Radio Vilnius. From folk and jazz leftovers from the long-forgotten times, via the gloomy picks from the end of the century to contemporary sedated beats.

Three years in the making, the album "Vox" is coming soon!", the electronic music duo Artfcl from Vilnius, Lithuania shares the hot news. This is the third full album and the first to use vocals. The album consists of 14 tracks, only one of which is without vocals - "Insider". The composition "Insider" has a quite deep sound, but is focused for the dance floors. Since the album is very diverse in its sound, the track "Insider" stands out enough from other tracks.


Artfcl's album "Vox" will be released on October 20th in 2022, which will be published by the publishing company Future Sound Scientists (FSS Recordings), which closely cooperates with innovative new generation electronic music professionals. Among the already released works or remixes, you can find Monikaze, who won the Lithuanian electronic music of the year nomination, as well as nominees Five Rituals, restless Roe Deers, who often performs internationally, improvisational virtuosos Quark Effect, the expressive Onegin and other resonant and relevant authors and performers from Lithuania.

Paulius Austrevičius aka CLICKLOUNGE is best known for his involvement in the reputable Opium Club in VIlnius, Lithuania, where he is regularly found both behind the decks and in the background working as a booking assistant & helping to curate club's program, bringing some of the most exciting and interesting DJs and artists over to play in the space. It's here that he also holds a residency and runs his own club night called Juoduomenė, alongside his trusted fellows.

His carefully researched selections go in tandem with unique cuts, oddities & always mussing amongst various musical compositions & it’s subjections. A gourmet combination of versatile & thermal music.

Marijus Klimaitis has the privilege of being a resident DJ at one of Vilnius' most famous nightclubs, @opiumclub, where he has performed some of his best sets, many of which have been heard and seen by our HQ team. 

Marijus is also known for his participation in the popular electronic music event called "SMALA" @smalaradio. As one of the key members of this event, Marijus has contributed to the success of some of the most unforgettable nights in Vilnius' nightlife.

With a taste for ambient, dark and spooky low techno, Marijus is a force to be reckoned with when it comes to curating a set that will leave you feeling stuff from another realms. We have the exact situation with this mix. He has a knack for blending tracks that are both deep and intense, pulling you in with their hypnotic rhythms and haunting melodies.  

The artist has carefully selected the Ferrari Testarossa as the featured car for the mix, a high-performance sports car that was produced from 1984 to 1996. The Testarossa is powered by a 4.9-liter flat-twelve engine that produces a maximum power output of 390 horsepower, and it can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 5.2 seconds. The car's top speed is around 180 mph, making it one of the fastest cars of its time. Legendary.
