The Incunabulum in the Castle – by Noel Murphy 
In 1920, deep in the heart of a forest in the land of the little hills of Monaghan, a fire raged as a Castle went up in flames and with it many treasures. The aristocratic family fled with their lives to safety. For weeks, months and even years after, treasure seekers came to hunt for silverware or any other precious remnants. The most precious treasure however was never to be retrieved; for it was a book, one of the oldest and most rare in all the world, known as an incunabulum. 
What was this book? Why was it so special? How did it arrive in this secluded Castle? Where did the family flee to on that fateful night of fire?
Although most of a century has passed, these questions could still be answered.
-Descendants of the aristocratic family now reside in the UK.
-An exact copy of the book resides in the world famous Smithsonian Institute in Washington DC.
-And astonishingly, a Baron can remember back to that exact night when his family made their own Castle home to the fleeing family.

Homes of History; This is the promo for a 10 part series to go out on Shannonside & Northern Sound Radio stations and which will be available on podcast at these stations later. 
All across the regions of Ireland Historical Homes nestle into the landscape, some still in active use, some brought back from the brink of destruction to their former glory and some just a ruinous pile.
All these stately houses however have something in common, a shared history of land and command with many a colourful tale trailing in their wake. This series sets out to take a look at ten of these Country Homes finding out the stories of the families that lived there, the extent of their estate, a walk around the home and gardens, their place on their community and the incredible histories associated with them.
