Crossfaded clips of 7 of the 8 tracks from Edentide, my debut album, out soon on Suntara records. It was fun selecting these fragments and knitting them together. The way they flow into each other mirrors the narrative quality of the album, which plays like a continuous 55 minute soundtrack to an unseen movie, or so I've been told.

Transience Album Sampler

So, here's a little sample from my debut album, 'Edentide' due for release on June 30 2014. I composed this melody in about 1979, when I was just sixteen, and nobody has ever heard it until now! It's actually the second half, or coda, of the first track on the album, 'For The Uncommon Man'. Lonelyangelsong was just a working title. Joining me are Ruth Wall, harp, Zoltan Dekany, bass, Asaf Sirkis, drums, Keith Fairbairn, vibes and producing is the amazing Kenny Dickenson, without whom this tune would still just be rattling around in my head, haunting my dreams.

Trumpet player, Noel Langley's debut solo album, Edentide, was released by Suntara Records on the 30th of June 2014.

Noel has been at the forefront of the British music scene for nearly thirty years, enjoying a career as a performer, composer, arranger, producer and educator. Renowned for his versatility, he has worked with many of the world’s top symphony orchestras, big bands and recording artists, and has performed in over sixty West End productions. 

Identified as an exceptional talent by Leonard Bernstein, whilst studying at the Guildhall School of Music, he went on to establish himself as one of this country’s finest lead players, performing with jazz greats such as Sir John Dankworth, Tim Garland, Hermeto Pascoal, Andrew Hill and Harry Connick Junior. He founded the London Jazz Orchestra in 1991 and played lead trumpet on Loose Tubes’ award winning album, ‘Dancing on Frith Street’, released in 2010.

Noel is currently a member of the virtuoso ensemble assembled by contemporary classical composer, Graham Fitkin.

Recently Noel has been performing and recording with Radiohead, is featured on the record breaking album ‘21’ by Adele and has been directing and arranging music for the Swing Out Sister Big Band, for concerts in London and the Far East.
